We’re normalising the very thing we say we’re trying to protect kids from.

This is an important point that should be discussed with a class perspective.
The Online Safety Act might claim to protect under-18s from online pornography, but we live in a society where sex is relentlessly commodified and glamourised across all mainstream media.

The same government that says it wants to shield children from explicit content pumps out sexualisation on a daily basis by the entertainment industry, all because it keeps the money flowing. Sex sells, and they’re happy for kids to absorb it as long as profit continues.

Children are growing up with warped ideas about relationships and consent, not because their parents failed them, but because they’ve been raised in a culture that puts pornographic values front and centre. There’s little room left for proper education or healthy development when the loudest voices are those selling sex as a lifestyle.

Morals haven’t just “slid”, they’ve been gutted by a system that profits from exploitation. We now see the promotion of “sex work” as an empowering career choice, rather than what it truly is: the exploitation of working-class women for the gratification and enrichment of others.

People are now up in arms over Angela Raynor's idea of selling off Allotments to "plug holes" in council budgets.

Councils no longer have any power to make changes. They are there to implement cuts and doll out contracts. There's no hole to plug because they no longer function in a manner that serves the local population.

Raynor's idea is no surprise. Capitalism can only see profit and some working class people growing their own vegetables creates to profit, but selling this land off as a commodity is massively profitable. They would sell building contracts in your garden if it turned a profit.

New ICE Recruits to Receive $50k Signing Bonus, Student Loan Forgiveness

Under its "Defend the Homeland" drive, the Trump administration is looking to recruit 10,000 more agents to Immigration, Customs and Enforcement (ICE).

The government are offering a wide range of enticements to potential ICE agents, including up to $50,000 in singing bonuses, generous pensions and overtime packages, and student loan repayments and forgiveness.

In his bid to forcibly deport millions of people, Trump has increased ICE's budget tenfold, to around $76.5 billion, roughly the same and the entire military budget of the United Kingdom or Saudi Arabia.

ICE's actions have been widely condemned by both the United Nations and international human rights groups.

Anne Harper (formerly Scargill) was the daughter of a mining trade unionist before she was the wife of one.

She became legendary during the great miners’ strike of 1984-5 for her indefatigable organising and leadership of the support movement for the strike, and her activism in defence of British mining and the working-class continued long after the strike’s conclusion.
