Joe Biden once gave a very honest assessment of Israel's value to the USA. This is from the mid 1980s and Biden has been entirely consistent on this point.

The German police have continued their ruthless crackdown on Palestine solidarity protests across the country , arresting and assaulting protesters. The crackdown includes repression of people who have chanted pro-Palestinian slogans and worn Palestinian symbols like the keffiyeh scarf. Despite the government's ban on demonstrations against Israel's brutal attacks on Gaza and across occupied Palestine, hundreds of people have taken to the streets including in the capital Berlin where the police response was particularly aggressive.

With the total weight of its machinery of state repression, the German state has increased the police presence, especially in areas with large Arab and Muslim communities, deliberately targeting youth with a migrant background and anyone expressing support for the Palestinian people, including children. This pattern of repression is not new, for years protests in support of Palestine have been routinely banned.

Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has announced his intention to ban the Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network "Samidoun."

Germany is Israel's leading trading partner in the EU and is the most active European country in the dehumanization of the Palestinian people and the criminalization of their struggle against Israeli apartheid, occupation and ethnic cleansing. Germany has lead Europe's charge to weaponize anti-semitism as a false pretext to crackdown on solidarity with Palestine, while failing to tackle rising racist and anti-semitic hate crimes within its own country by white supremacist groups.

⚖️☕️🇺🇸Palestine Spiced Latte, with a Side of Union Busting🇵🇸☕️⚖️

Starbucks and the union representing its workers, Workers United, entered into a legal dispute on Wednesday. This disagreement arose following a social media post related to the Israel-Hamas conflict. In response, Starbucks filed a lawsuit against Workers United in a federal court in Iowa.

The company alleges that a pro-Palestinian message posted from a union account during the early stages of the Israel-Hamas conflict caused frustration among hundreds of customers and negatively impacted Starbucks' reputation.

“Starbucks unequivocally condemns acts of hate, terrorism and violence,” said Starbucks Executive Vice President Sara Kelly. This is not helping the rumors that led Starbucks to claim in 2014 that "Rumors that Starbucks or Howard provides financial support to the Israeli government and/or the Israeli Army are unequivocally false."
