147 years ago, on December 18th 1876, the first political demonstration under the red flag in Russia took place on the square of the Kazan Cathedral in St. Petersburg. In history it is known as the Kazan demonstration .
The demonstration was organized and carried out by populists from Land and Freedom and members of workers' circles associated with them. About 400 people gathered in the square. G.V. Plekhanov delivered a passionate revolutionary speech to the audience. The young worker named Potapov unfurled a red flag, which became a symbol of the revolutionary movement.
The demonstration was dispersed by the police. 31 demonstrators were arrested, 5 of whom were sentenced to 10-15 years of hard labor, 10 were sentenced to exile in Siberia, and three workers, including Y. Potapov, were sentenced to imprisonment for 5 years in a monastery.
The Kazan demonstration marked the beginning of the conscious participation of the Russian working class in the social movement. Anti-government rallies, demonstrations, and May Day meetings took place under red banners.
In 1898, the red flag became the flag of the RSDLP.
In 1917, the red flag became the flag of the new Soviet State.

🏆⛺😥Number of Unhoused Americans Breaks Record In Another Biden Win! 😥⛺🏆
This year the United States has seen a dramatic 12% spike in homelessness. 653,000 people were reported homeless, the most ever recorded by the Department of HUD.
The surge follows soaring rents and a decline in pandemic assistance, making housing unattainable for more Americans than ever. The rise in first-time homelessness, particularly among families with children, reversed a declining trend that began in 2012.
HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge underscored the urgent need to prevent and address the housing crisis, which was all talk, of course.
Newly unhoused American children can at least take solace and no small measure of pride that their parents’ taxes will be put to work: to bankroll some made-up Russian government in exile prior to that country’s elections, in preparation to defend Taiwan by getting the whole island blown up, and up Zelensky’s right nostril.

👨🌾🇩🇪German Farmers Pushing Back Against Austerity🇩🇪👨🌾
Farmers from Germany drove their tractors to Berlin to demonstrate against the government's proposal to reduce diesel subsidies and tax advantages for farming machinery. Berlin has revealed intentions to implement austerity measures in 2024, aligning with strategies to address a significant budget deficit in the multibillion-euro range.
Farmers closed off the main street adjacent to the Brandenburg Gate, displaying signs that said “Your politics are a declaration of war against farmers” and “Enough is enough!”. Protesters are worried that Germany's farming industry could face a shortfall of nearly €1 billion next year.
The German Farmers Association (DBV) threatened to expand the demonstrations. DBV President Joachim Rukwied warned at the rally that “from January 8 we will be present everywhere in a way that the country has never experienced before. We will not accept this.”

The number of homeless people in the US has reached record levels
The number of homeless people in the United States has broken through a new ceiling and exceeded 650 thousand people, which is 12% more than last year. This is evidenced by a report published by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Among the reasons for the increase, the department notes a sharp increase in housing rents, an increase in real estate prices and an echo of the covid epidemic, during which mass evictions occurred.
It is especially worth paying attention to New York, where the number of homeless people has increased the most - by 18%. This is despite Democratic Party Mayor Eric Adams receiving around $200 million from the federal government to combat homelessness.

This is area of the city is well known to one of our comrades. A great working class part of Liverpool. A once vibrant and rich area, Walton-on-the-hill has now been left to destitution.
This is what happens to working class areas in big cities that have no student or tourist ability. Working class high streets are kept alive by what's left of the old pubs, supermarkets, barbers and budget shops.
The working class are given the bare minimum in which to survive and then are exploited to the maximum. As capitalism lurches into yet another recession more and more we are seeing extreme poverty in the imperialist countries. With no colonies left to exploit more wars fought in the name of resource capital.
This will never transform the working class communities into what they once were. We will continue to be exploited as much as possible whilst still being able to "live" and breed.
The only way we can reverse this and live a respectful existence is to remove those who seek to exploit us and have a truly worker led economy, a planned economy.

The Great “What If?”
“You should have voted for Corbyn” is a common refrain, especially online, these days. Many people when looking at the terrible “choices” likely to be on offer at the next general election rightly …
This year has seen many disappointing incidents within the trade union movement but none more so than the composite motion C21 where unions offered their support to the NATO led Kiev regime.
Let's not forget how British trade unions in 2023 supported Imperialism.
