As the "no true worker" discourse is still kicking around I've written this brief response to the some of the idiocies on display from all sides of this debate.

No public consultation. No debate. A plan rushed through behind closed doors. A unilateral declaration by an unelected Commissioner that the European Union is now "a war economy," and the people of Europe have to pay for it! Well the corks must be popping in the arms industry boardrooms across Europe tonight.

Eurovision is over and Liverpool’s hosting of Ukraine’s event is being heralded as a roaring success. The Liverpool City Council have been screaming about how great this was for the city and the money it has brought that in. Now by city they mean city centre. The banners and excitement for the event are not hung or felt in the out-laying areas where scousers actual live. By money they mean the millions taken by the council and the big businesses that have raised prices in preparation for the influx of tourists that our city centre is designed for.

Away from the minor extra’s of local city politics this event is being use for much more insidious purposes. Eurovision is being used to whitewash the nature of this conflict in Ukraine. The Eurowashing of Ukraine’s image is consistent from the mainstream media. Using everything from news, tabloid press and even sporting events. This event has been the jewel in the crown for those that want us to believe that ‘Slava Ukraini’ does not have origins Ukrainian nationalism.
To construct consent for this Nato proxy war the media needs to disguise the nazi symbols into symbols of liberation. They would have you believe that Stepan Bendera was a freedom fighter and not an active participant in genocide.

Liverpool is known to be a working-class city with a strong left presence. The British left often admire the city for its battles against The Conservatives, so where better to run to for acceptance then here. Not to mention that the corrupt council will do anything for a few extra quid.
They can throw Ukraine flags over the Beatles statues or light up the Three Graces blue and yellow, but the facts remain. Ukraine is not a liberal paradise, but a fascistic regime infested with Nazism and far right nationalism
