This is contradictory to what Holli Sullivan has communicated at public meetings. The Legislature refused to fix some of the problems until Holli Sullivan and the Secretary of States office were sued by Judicial Watch, a Government Oversight “watchdog” in Washington DC. Almost 80% of voter referendums approved a tax increase for the School Districts across Indiana. It’s shocking rather than demand accountability and efficiency of the “educational system” large edifices are erected to virtue signal that the children’s needs are being met. Yet, the parents have to supply supplies due to funding issues. The focus is completely backwards. The public education system has lost its way and taxpayers willingly condone and comply. Approximately 40% of our property taxes in VANDERBURGH County fund EVSC. What return in investment are we receiving? A better functioning society creates adults that are able to be self sufficient and apply discernment; education is the pathway. There must be a balance between property maintenance and the first priority of developing the minds of the youth in a positive independent fostering way. The taxpayers continue to miss the mark on education making the elected officials on the school boards accountable.
