One of the recommendations the Governor's Public Health Commission made in 2022 was to create a council focused on Indiana’s health workforce. That group met for the first time this week.
The council is made up of representatives from across the health industry.
Brooke Mullen, the executive director of the council, said it will help identify areas of need and align workforce efforts statewide. It will also develop the state’s health workforce plan.
Mullen said the council has flexibility in how it achieves that. This means if the members feel they’re missing some context or insight, they have the power to bring in more voices and perspectives.
“No single stakeholder is responsible for the clinical or the public health workforce of our state,” Mullen said.
Mullen said members aren’t starting from “square one” when it comes to trying to tackle workforce issues.
The Indiana Department of Health and the Family and Social Services Administration hosted a summit of stakeholders from across the state in April to identify where the health workforce was doing well and where it could improve.
The first meeting focused on the first of two key components identified by summit participants, which was how to connect more age groups to education pathways for health workforce employment.

PHIG: A Transformative Infrastructure Grant for Health Equity and Inclusive Workforces
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress made a historic investment in public health workforce and infrastructure, presenting a game-changing opportunity for public health transformation. In the fall of 2022, CDC rolled out a first of its kind, five-year grant program called the Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG) to address critical governmental public health workforce and system improvement needs. This program is all about supporting health departments across our states, territories, and freely associated states to ensure every community has the people, services, and systems needed to promote and protect optimal health for all.
Along with funding 107 health departments, CDC also partnered with three organizations: the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, the National Network of Public Health Institutes, and the Public Health Accreditation Board to help agencies modernize data systems, recruit and retain a skilled public health workforce, and address longstanding public health infrastructure needs.
Which brings us to Indiana Senate Bill 4 passed in 2023. Read the article below by the Indiana Capital Chronicle to educate yourself about this health consolidation plan for Indiana. The sponsors were Senator Charbonneau and Senator Becker.
Let’s look at the brouhaha in Warrick County regarding their Health Department and the “alleged” dereliction of duties of a twenty year employee, Dr Rick Yeager. Indiana is an “at will” employment State; which means no explanation has to be given about being fired. The predicament is Warrick County is in a position that if they allege wrong doing, incompetence, and etc, it will be libel and/or slander. There’s a reason for Dr Yeager’s removal.
The Health “grant” provided to Warrick County is overseen by Debbie Bennett Stearsman per the Warrick County website, not the County Health Department. It appears the elected officials are looking for a “scapegoat” to usher in their “temporary” appointment named, Julie Wohrley, MD. to oversee the Warrick County Health Department.
Dr Julie Wohrley is a pediatric infectious disease specialist from Chicago, Illinois currently employed with Deaconess Riley Children’s Speciality Center in Newburgh, Indiana. She also serves on the VANDERBURGH County Board of Health, along with Margaret Musgrave. 🤔
The Warrick County Board of Health, appointed Dr Wohrley to serve as an “interim” Director while Dr. Yeager is being removed from his long term position.
The State of Indiana took over all 92 Health Departments in 2024, now there appears to be further consolidation of individual health departments by region. Dr. Wohrley appears to be the catalyst to merge the Warrick and VANDERBURGH Health Departments.
The VANDERBURGH Health Department is a PAID position, WARRICK Health Department is a PAID position. There are lots of questions regarding this arrangement and the implementation of the further abdication of our health sovereignty. WARNING ⚠️

In 6-3 decision issued today June 20, 2024, the Supreme Court ruled that 1) a jury must be unanimous in its findings on criminal convictions, and 2) sentencing enhancements cannot be arbitrarily implemented by judicial fiat.
The ruling and the rhetoric in the opinion have obvious implications for both the illegal Bragg witch trial against Trump in New York City and the bogus J6 1512(c) charges and sentencing enhancements that corrupt federal judges have announced they will implement if the Supreme Court nukes 1512(c).

Another official in Warrick County has been arrested. This occurred today, 6/21/2024. It’s involving the Warrick County Health Department.
Marlin Weisheit, 72, of Boonville, was arrested Friday shortly before 3 p.m. and has since bonded out.
Last December, the Warrick County Commissioners publicly appointed him as the interim administrator for the Warrick County Health Department to replace Dr Rick Yeager.
Four days before that, a contract between the Warrick County Commissioners and Weisheit was signed agreeing Weisheit is an independent contractor and is not a representative of Warrick County or a county employee.
Police revealed the current health administrator, Dr Rick Yeager had denied Weisheit the position of Administrator of the Health Department between the new year.
Officials say the current Warrick County Health Administrator, Dr Rick Yeager officially consented to hiring Weisheit in April and the commissioners approved his appointment at a public meeting. This version appears to contradict Dr Rick Yeager and unbeknownst to him, he would have been training his replacement rather than a new Health employee.
According to a press release, Weisheit’s first day of employment with the Warrick County Health Department as a county employee was April 23, 2024, previously he was an independent contractor.
Detectives say the claims for hours worked by Weisheit in January and February were paid in the amount of $9,600 from the health department funds without the knowledge or approval of the current health administrator, Dr. Rick Yeager.
Between April 26 and May 2, Weisheit allegedly used Dr Rick Yeager’s signature stamp without his approval or authority to transfer funds within the health department’s budget to pay a lease agreement with Liberty Concepts, INC, Boonville.
The investigation revealed the health administrator, Dr Rick Yeager would not authorize payments to Liberty from the health department due to the contract being between the commissioners and Liberty Concepts, INC and not the Warrick County Health Department.
After reviewing this investigation, Perry County Special Prosecutor Samantha Hurst filed criminal charges against Weisheit.
He faces charges of Official Misconduct, Level 6 Felony and Conversion Misdemeanor (2 counts).
The Warrick County Health Department during its public meeting on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 appoints a third interim person as the Warrick Health Administrator, Dr. Julie Wohrley.
Allegedly Dr Wohrley has rescinded her interest in being appointed as an interim Health Administrator. Which leaves Warrick officials without the ability to process vital records and perpetuates an employee in limbo regarding his status as an experienced Health administrator.
It appears there is more information regarding the overzealous objective to terminate Dr Rick Yeager’s employment without providing any evidence of his wrongdoing.

The Warrick County Commissioners should provide their executed agreement with the Indiana Health Department regarding the appropriation of Senate Bill 4 Subsidy; this will provide clarity and dispel any misunderstanding to the taxpayer regarding written commitments.

Republican lieutenant governor candidate Micah Beckwith's property tax relief plan is a good one and long overdue.
I see a few letters from the "tax-and-spend" activists already opposing Beckwith's proposal. Seniors over 65 who have lived in Indiana for over a decade and our military veterans who served 10 years deserve tax relief.
Ending property taxes for these two groups is a long overdue "thank you" and well warranted. A third benefit of the proposal is a capped property tax at same level from when home was purchased.

Beckwith is exemplifying leadership in proposing a known problem in Indiana that the majority of Hoosiers understand. Republican lieutenant governor candidate Micah Beckwith's property tax relief plan is a good one and long overdue.
I see a few letters from the "tax-and-spend" activists already opposing Beckwith's proposal. Seniors over 65 who have lived in Indiana for over a decade and our military veterans who served 10 years deserve tax relief.
Ending property taxes for these two groups is a long overdue "thank you" and well warranted. A third benefit of the proposal is a capped property tax at same level from when home was purchased.

In yet another Cracker Barrel-like incident of a supposedly conservative company oddly adopting a woke agenda, Tractor Supply, a conservative-coded company that mainly provides farm and country goods to rural customers, was outed as having a woke, DEI and LGBT agenda. Commenters on a post drawing attention to the bad news vowed a boycott.
Among those who called out Tractor Supply was Jack Posobiec, the editor of Human Events and a noted conservative personality on X. He, in a tweet on June 20th that received nearly 400,000 views, called out the company for the various woke things it has done. Particularly, he called out the various DEI and LGBT things Tractor Supply does.
In the tweet calling out the apparently woke company, Posobiec said, “Under CEO @hallawto, Tractor Supply promotes LGBT training, funds pride and drag events, supports sex changes, and pushes climate activism. Despite their conservative customers, they have a DEI Council, pride decorations, and LGBT events. Consider shopping elsewhere, America”
COLBERT COMMENT: If Tractor Supply is going to survive the “Bud Light” effect, the Board of Directors must fire the CEO and change course immediately. Rural America will not tolerate this nonsense. This will be the end of Tractor Supply if the problem is not remedied.
