Jury returns guilty verdict in Amy Word trial

Amy Word, an Evansville school board member and former owner of Lamasco Bar and Grill, was found guilty Friday of maintaining a common nuisance after a three-day trial in Sullivan County.

Word, 48, took a gamble taking her case to trial because according to her attorney, prosecutors had offered to place Word in a pretrial diversion program that could have seen the case against her dismissed.
Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office spokesperson Ellora Daily confirmed the verdict to the Courier & Press just before 12:30 p.m. A reporter was also on scene at the Sullivan County courthouse, where Word’s trial was held due to extensive media coverage of her case in Evansville.

More: Accused dealer said he sold cocaine at Lamasco with Word's knowledge
Word was charged with the Level 6 felony in July 2022 after detectives claimed she knew about drug use and dealing at Lamasco Bar & Grill, one of several popular bars along Franklin Street in Evansville.

Word's arrest came after a sweeping investigation into alleged drug dealing and use along Franklin Street's nightlife district and specifically at Lamasco Bar & Grill. Investigators claimed that Word knew several men sold cocaine to her bar's patrons and employees on a near-daily basis, effectively turning the bar into a public nuisance and a hub for criminal activity.

"Amy Word, who is still an inactive member of our school board, allowed drug dealers and users alike to proliferate cocaine into the community of Evansville through her bar," Vanderburgh County Prosecutor Diana Moers wrote in a statement. "But no more. The defendant's businesses are no longer in operation and she will no longer be eligible to serve on the school board as a convicted felon."

The Sullivan County jury returned with its verdict, guilty, just after 12:15 p.m. Evansville time on Friday.
Word pleaded not guilty soon after her arrest on July 30, 2022, and maintained her innocence during a two-year slog through the courts. In public Facebook posts, and comments to the media, Word claimed the case against her was unfounded.

State witness tied Word to drug scene at Lamasco
The Courier & Press sought comment from Word's defense attorney, Bob Canada, Friday afternoon but did not receive a response prior to publication of this article. Last week, Canada told the newspaper that Word hoped to "clear her name" at trial.
"The prosecution hinges on a drug dealer who's facing 30 years in prison and is testifying to get lenience," Canada said, referring to the state's key witness, Demario Montez Holman, who testified on Wednesday that he personally sold cocaine to Word and distributed the drug at Lamasco Bar & Grill.

More: What to know about Amy Word's pending criminal trial
Canada said that Word was confident enough in her prospects that she turned down the pretrial diversion offer early on in the legal process.
According to court records, prosecutors extended "use immunity" to Holman in order to secure his testimony at Word's trial, a legal remedy that allows witnesses to incriminate themselves when answering attorneys' questions without fear that their statements will be used against them.

Canada told jurors that Holman was an unreliable witness who had a motive to lie about Word in the hopes that prosecutors offered him leniency in his own Level 2 felony drug case.
“Do you feel that you are being compelled to testify?” Canada asked Holman during a lengthy cross-examination.

“No," Holman replied.
“But during your deposition, you said, 'I mean s--t, I don’t have a choice man,” Canada retorted.
Canada told the Courier & Press on Thursday that Holman's testimony was riddled with inconsistencies. But Holman was steadfast in his claim that he and others sold cocaine at Lamasco Bar & Grill and that Word knew about it.

“I saw it with my own eyes,” Holman told Vanderburgh County Deputy Prosecutor, James Doyle, referring to Word's involvement with a drug scene.

What is AIPAC? How the group uses funding to support the Israel-US relationship

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee, or AIPAC, has moved further into public discourse as the Israel-Hamas war enters its eighth month. AIPAC, whose website lists its core mission as "building bipartisan support for the U.S.-Israel Relationship," is the best-known contingent of PACS and lobbying groups dedicated to maintaining a positive relationship between the United States and Israel.

AIPAC platform includes "supporting security assistance to Israel," "promoting peace," and "countering Iran's aggression and nuclear weapons quest." AIPAC is also known for sponsoring travel of US politicians and aides to Israel.

True to its mission, AIPAC has built strong friendships on both sides of the aisle. Even politicians who clash with each other on issues such as the January 6 insurrection or the existence of climate change find common ground in their support for the group. AIPAC-backed politicians include Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana), House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-Louisiana), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-New York), and House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-Massachusetts).

AIPAC is a pro-Israel lobbying group that advocates its policies to the legislative and executive branches of the United States.[4] One of several pro-Israel lobbying organizations in the country,[5] it has been called one of the most powerful lobbying groups there.[6]

Here are two known Indiana candidates that are supported by American Israel Public Affairs Committee: MARK MESSMER, ERIN HOUCHIN

The question does Messmer and Houchin have dual citizenship as an American and an Israeli? Don’t know yet….,

MUST READ: Something CATACLYSMIC Just Happened…

SCOTUS Just Destroyed the Fourth Branch of Government The Administrative Deep-State, and Restored Power Back to our Constitutional Freedoms!

Follow along and understand that Donald Trump is literally saving America with his SCOTUS picks… 🇺🇸

🔴 SCOTUS just ruled on a case named Loper Bright Enterprises, Inc. v. Raimondo, Sec. of Comm.

Summary Opinion:
The courts MAY NOT defer to an agency interpretation of the law simply because a statute is ambiguous; CHEVRON IS OVERRULED.”

ROBERTS, delivered the opinion. THOMAS, ALITO, GORSUCH, KAVANAUGH, and BARRETT joined.

KAGAN, J., filed a dissenting opinion, SOTOMAYOR & JACKSON, joined

🔴 THE MAIN FOCUS here is that the “Chevron Deference” has been Overturned in this case

• the Chevron Deference was established in 1984, which instructed courts to defer to federal agencies’ interpretations of laws where the underlying statute is, “unclear”.

• This basically means since 1984, unelected bureaucrats (deep state) in Federal Agencies have Lorded over the American people and been able to invent law as they see fit.
—— in simpler words, the Administrative State (Deep State), had the power to govern themselves and interpret the law as they see fit.

• The Chevron Defence has been the root of government unaccountability, and countless rules and regulations that govern our lives; much more than congress does.
—— For every law congress passes, there are probably 500 regulations set by unelected bureaucrats.

• This immediately affects hundreds of Federal bureaucracy agencies.
• Any and all public health agencies
• Any and all public safety agencies
• Any and all environmental agencies, including the EPA
• the Food & Drug Administration
Etc.

I can’t emphatically express this enough, THIS IS A VERY BIG NAIL in the coffin of the deep state!

🔴 THIS IS undeniable proof that Donald Trump has been saving America with his SCOTUS picks…

• Without Trump being elected President In 2016, Trump never would have picked 3 SCOTUS Justices (Hillary would have), and all these life-changing decisions never would have happened…

Roe v Wade overturned!
• Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization
—— this will fundamentally change the nuclear family in America.

Constitutional Carry Protected!
• New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen
—— this fortified our sovereign right to keep and bear arms under the 2nd amendment.

Religious Freedoms Secured!
• Kennedy v. Bremerton School District - Lemon Case overturned.
—— Everywhere where crosses & the Ten Commandments were, they had to be taken down due to Lemon, they can now come back up! Prayers in all institutions & businesses are now safe!

Affirmative Action Overturned!
• Harvard and SFFA v. UNC
—— this will fundamentally change this country and stop what they call “positive discrimination”. This will have a trickle down effect and benefit society as a whole.

Climate Change Agenda - Halted!
• West Virginia vs EPA, Ohio v. EPA
—— not allowing the government to dictate impossible regulations that would destroy the middle-class and farmers, creating government monopoly.

The Fourth Branch of Government - Destroyed!
• Loper Bright Enterprises, Inc. v. Raimondo, Sec. of Comm.
—— this decision will fundamentally transform America, affect countless rules and regulations regarding every aspect of our lives.

Cleaner & Safer Streets— Common Sense Restored!
• City of Grant Pass v. Johnson
—— cities can now legally remove homeless people camping on public property. This will do wonders to stop homeless people from overrunning public parks with tents, drugs, trash, and other filth.

Can’t you see….?

Without Trump being elected President In 2016, Trump never would have picked those 3 SCOTUS Justices. Hillary would have.

None of these Country & life-changing decisions never would have happened…

Thank you GOD! 🙌

NEW LAW
EFFECTIVE July 1, 2024

House Bill 1183 – Foreign ownership of land
Recent conversations surrounding the foreign ownership of land during the recent political campaigns resulted in House Bill 1183 being signed into law by Holcomb on March 15.
Under the new law, a prohibited person may not purchase, lease or acquire a parcel of real property in Indiana or within a 10-mile radius of a military installation with certain exceptions. This includes agricultural land, a mineral right, water or a riparian right on agricultural land.
Prohibited persons include those who hold dual citizenship with the United States and countries like China, Iran, North Korea, Russia or a country designated as a threat to critical infrastructure by the governor. This bill also includes business entities held or controlled by citizens of a foreign adversary.

COLBERT COMMENT:

Already see a loophole. Unelected officials are operating foundations and academia that own real estate in Indiana. Here’s just one example: Indiana Economic Development Corporation. It’s overseen by unelected officials and the CEO is Eric Holcomb that happens to also be the Indiana Governor. Even though the real estate is owned by a US owned entity; partnerships still continue with foreign entities. Properties may be leased by foreign entities. The law is meaningless, but hey Hoosiers have a false sense of security.

I am sorry but I am appalled at everyone acting like Biden’s dementia has been collectively realized by the American people based on a mass epiphany due to his debate performance. Like many other normal people, I’ve known it since the 2020 campaign. Why do you think he didn’t campaign? Stayed in the basement? Hasn’t made himself available to the press his entire term? Constantly says he’ll be in trouble if he answers another question?

This is ridiculous. Please quit insulting my intelligence and playing into this horrendous gaslighting. Even people on our side are going along with this ludicrous narrative. Can we just take a moment to extricate ourselves from this unreality imposed on us the last four years? And while we’re at it could we quit giving the press a pass by going along with this fiction that they’ve been duped by Biden’s handlers. I give them more credit than to be that stupid, but not that corrupt. They weren’t fooled. They were popularizing the lie.

Why do we let Orwellian illusions dominate us? We should use this as a learning moment— as an illustration of how society can live in an alternate reality— and come to our senses.

Let’s use this Biden dementia concealment hoax as a learning moment. A good start would be for all of to get off our pathetic, cowardly rear ends and put a decisive stop to this devious conspiracy that we are in the clutches of some catastrophic climate crisis. It is foolish and stupid and incalculably reckless. We are trying to commit national economic suicide pretending to combat this non-existent problem that wouldn’t be alleviated by our assault on energy production even if the theory were true because all of our global adversaries are ignoring the stupidity and using our stupidity to get ahead of us, as they are unrestrained by this stupidity. (I’m rather proud of that run-on sentence FWIW).

Could we please quit playing games? If we are behaving this way as adults and stewards of the only nation, with God’s help, that has a chance to lead this world out of its satanic clutches, what will become of our kids? Our liberty?

This is a wake-up call. Let’s not squander the opportunity. I don’t want to close this on a negative note. There are signs we are awakening and willing to recapture our unique constitutional heritage, not least of which is the long overdue smack down of Chevron and the unelectable, unaccountable administrative state. Wow that’s big, but just a start. The left is relentless, tireless and committed. May we be as well!

Most candidates not returning thousands in political donations by disgraced sheriff Jamey Noel

Multiple Republican campaigns and committees that received political donations from disgraced former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel said they have no plans to return or donate those dollars elsewhere — while numerous others are keeping mum, distancing themselves from Noel altogether.

Noel, a prominent Hoosier Republican himself, currently faces more than two dozen felony charges for allegedly misusing money from the fire and EMS departments which he oversaw.

Of the more than $100,000 he’s contributed to GOP candidates and campaigns since 2008, per state and federal campaign finance records, investigators now allege at least $33,000 made in Noel’s name actually came from public funds he misappropriated between 2020 and 2023.

The donations — made through WinRed, a Republican fundraising platform — were earmarked to campaigns for former President Donald Trump, the Indiana State Republican Committee, Congresswoman Erin Houchin, and others.
The former sheriff is accused of using credit cards from New Chapel EMS and the Utica Township Volunteer Firefighters Association to fund his and his family’s lifestyle — spending millions of taxpayer dollars on cars, planes, vacations, cigars, clothing and other luxury purchases.

Holcomb unwilling to redirect donations, for now
Among Hoosier politicos, Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb has received the lion share of campaign donations made by Noel over the last two decades. State and federal records tally at least $33,622 to Holcomb across his campaigns for both U.S. Senate and governor. None of those dollars came from WinRed, however.

Holcomb has repeatedly maintained he never knowingly accepted political donations or non-nominal travel, gifts or otherwise from Noel — which could have been paid for with stolen taxpayer dollars. He said allegations against his close friend and associate are “so surprising.”

The governor told the Capital Chronicle that his “understanding” was that Noel’s donations, specifically, were “all above board.”

“This is not the first time that this scenario has unfolded,” Holcomb said, largely referring to campaign contributions he formerly received from online charter school scandal donors.
We'll watch this legal process play out, but to my knowledge, all the contributions that he gave me and everyone else were of from legal means

– Gov. Eric Holcomb
The scheme came to light in 2020, revealing that nearly $70 million in taxpayer funds from the Pike Township Educational Foundation went to campaigns and committees for various Hoosier Republicans.
Elected Indiana Republicans received more than $100,000 in contributions from companies and individuals tied to the scandal. Holcomb accepted more than $10,000 in campaign cash. He later donated the contributions to a local education nonprofit.

“The campaign donations that I received from (Noel) — and I have received a lot of other donations, and none of which are in this situation, keeping things in proper perspective — but the individual donations that I received from that individual, I understand came from him, they came from his account,” the governor said, adding that, “if needed,” the donations “could” be returned.
“But typically, you end up spending what you received during a campaign,” Holcomb continued. “What we’ve learned recently, what the accusations are — I’m just referring to my previous comments, and they remain the core of my beliefs, and that’s that I’m stunned, I’m shocked and surprised, and never once was one unethical word uttered to me.”
The governor said “the legal process will have to play out” before any contributions could be returned. For now, the accusations against Noel are “unfounded.”

“We’ll watch this legal process play out, but to my knowledge, all the contributions that he gave me and everyone else were of from legal means,” Holcomb concluded.

Here is the final opinion of the term from the Supreme Court. It is a 6–3 opinion delivered by Chief Justice Roberts. Justice Sotomayor filed a dissenting opinion, in which Justice Kagan and Jackson joined. This case is Trump V United States.

(HOLDING: Under our constitutional structure of separated powers, the nature of Presidential power ennoscripts a former President to absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority. And he is ennoscriptd to at least presump-
tive immunity from prosecution for all his official acts. There is no
immunity for unofficial acts.)

INDIANA RINO 🚨

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene’s amendment would have effectively FIRED Secretary Mayorkas by reducing his salary to $1.

These “Republicans” voted to KILL the amendment and keep paying Mayorkas AFTER we impeached him.

Rep. Maria Salazar from Florida apparently thinks Mayorkas is doing a great job.

Rep. Zach Nunn from Iowa thinks Mayorkas should get paid for the invasion at the Southern border.

And retiring Rep. Larry Bucshon from Indiana wants Mayorkas to keep his job.

COLBERT COMMENT: It’s shocking, NOT, that Bucshon consistently votes against his constituents. Hoosiers want the border secure.
