NEW - LADA Office prosecutors allege that Eugene Yu violated Konnech’s $2.9M contract with Los Angeles County by improperly giving third-party contractors in China, who “assisted with creating and fixing” Konnech’s PollChief software, access to poll workers’ sensitive personally identifiable information.
According to the complaint, a Konnech project manager said in August 2022 via the Alibaba messaging app DingTalk that it was a "huge security issue" that "Chinese contractors working on PollChief software had "superadministration" privileges for all PollChief clients."
