"When spiritual joy fills the hearts, the serpent pours out its deadly venom in vain."

Francis of Asís
🇯🇵🔥📝 — The rising Far-Right Japanese Nationalist Sanseito has placed forward a proposed “New Constitution of Japan” that would replace the US-imposed Constitution of Japan.

Such Constitutional project aims to:

➡️1 - Entirely review and overule Article 1 and 4 of the Constitution, granting more powers to the Emperor:
🔴Sanseito views the current Japanese Constitution (especially Article 1 and Article 4) as overly restrictive of the Emperor’s traditional role.
📝 Article 1 defines the Emperor as the “symbol of the State and of the unity of the people”—a passive and ceremonial figure.
📝 Sanseito argues this symbolic role undermines Japan's spiritual and cultural continuity.

➡️ They propose revising these articles to acknowledge the Emperor as a central spiritual and moral authority, and potentially a figure with more formalized cultural and ceremonial sovereignty, though still within a constitutional framework.

National Identity and Shinto Influence:
🔴 Sanseito’s worldview incorporates Shinto-inspired traditionalism, seeing the Emperor as the sacred linchpin of Japan’s national essence (kokutai).
➡️ They believe that restoring reverence for the Emperor is vital for rebuilding Japan’s moral and spiritual foundation.

Constitutional Reform Platform:
❗️ Sanseito supports the complete revision or replacement of the postwar Constitution, which they consider a foreign-imposed document (written primarily by American occupation authorities).

👑 Their ideal constitution would reflect Japanese traditions, history, and values, including a more honored and possibly empowered Emperor.

➡️ However, they stop short of proposing a return to absolute monarchy; the intent is more symbolic-cultural than executive in most public proposals.

🔴 They promote the idea of the Emperor having an active moral role in guiding the nation, perhaps as a guardian of Japan’s values, customs, and traditions.

This may imply more public engagement, speeches, or ceremonial powers tied to state rituals or legislative openings, not direct governance.

Sanseito indirectly supports the restoration of the Emperor’s role as the high priest of the nation, a key aspect of State Shinto.

In their view, the Emperor should be constitutionally recognized as the sacred intermediary between the Japanese people and the Kamis (gods/spirits).

They do not necessarily propose making Shinto a "state religion" again, but want it to be constitutionally enshrined as the national spiritual tradition.

➡️ 2 - Shinto as the Basis of National Identity

Sanseito sees Shinto not just as a religion, but as the spiritual and cultural foundation of the Japanese nation.

🔴 They promote the restoration of traditional Japanese values rooted in Shinto, including reverence for the Emperor, respect for ancestors, harmony with nature, and moral discipline.

“We must return to Japan’s true spiritual roots and national character, centered on our traditional culture and the Emperor.” — typical phrasing in Sanseito statements and speeches.
Constitutional Acknowledgment of Shinto

❗️ Sanseito advocates for removing Article 20 of the current Constitution, or at least revising its strict separation of religion and state.

📝 Article 20 prohibits the State from engaging in any religious activity or favoring any religion.

🇯🇵 This was included in the 1947 Constitution to dismantle State Shinto, which had been used as a tool of ultranationalism during the Empire of Japan.
🔥 Sanseito considers this article to be a suppression of Japan’s spiritual identity, and they want Shinto rituals and values to be constitutionally recognized as part of Japan’s heritage.

➡️ 3 - Revive Public Shinto Ceremonies
They call for the public reintroduction of national rituals connected to the Imperial tradition and State Shinto—such as:

📆 Reverence for National Foundation Day (Kenkoku Kinen no Hi)

🙏 Participation in Shinto rites involving the Emperor, like the Niiname-sai and Daijō-sai

📚 Moral education in schools based on Shinto and Confucian principles

🇯🇵🔥📝 — Sanseito’s proposed “New Constitution of Japan” notably omits several key articles that guarantee fundamental rights, including:

– Equality Under the Law (Article 14)
– Freedom from Slavery and Forced Labor (Article 18)
– Freedom of Thought and Conscience (Article 19)
– Freedom of Religion (Article 20)
– Freedom of Speech (Article 21)
– Freedom of Residence, Movement, Occupation, and Renunciation of Nationality (Article 22)
– Right to a Fair Trial (Article 32)
– Right to Legal Counsel (Article 34)
– Right to Remain Silent (Article 38)

➡️ It is known that some of the party's activists support the removal of nationality from groups of naturalized Japanese citizens from China, such as supporting forced labor for prisoners.

➡️ As you can imagine, this caused a furor on the more liberal Japanese social networks, where they accused Mr. Sohei Kamiya - Leader of Sanseito - of wanting to create a Right-Wing Dictatorship in Japan.

Totalitarian Fiat Epistemology is built around three core principles:
1. The present fiat is the only truth.
2. Truth is not discovered, it is declared.
3. Contradictions are resolved by obedience, not logic.
