⚠️JUST IN: JUST IN: Makina has offered the exploiter 102 ETH (~$300K) to return approximately $3M+ in stolen funds.

Makina recently suffered an exploit totaling 1,023 ETH (~$4M). The team has now formally messaged the attacker, giving a 24-hour timer to return 900 ETH and keep 102 ETH as a reward.

⚠️UPDATE: The exploiter has returned 920 ETH (~$2.7M) in exchange for a ~$300K reward.

Roughly 30 minutes ago, the attacker sent back the stolen funds after agreeing to keep 103 ETH (~$305K) as a whitehat reward. The remaining funds will be returned to victims as compensation.

⚠️ JUST IN: XMR has dropped ~25% (≈$290) following a tweet from ZachXBT.

ZachXBT confirmed that the XMR pump, which pushed the asset to an all-time high of ~$799, was linked to a large social engineering theft, with threat actors using XMR to launder stolen funds.

John moved $23M in stolen funds during a heated argument with another individual known as Dritan. The entire interaction was recorded, and multiple wallets used to transfer the stolen funds were leaked.

By moving the funds himself, John demonstrated direct control over the wallets, linking himself to the stolen assets to him and making the case straightforward & easy for law enforcement.

Despite ZachXBT launching an investigation, John sent a small donation to ZachXBT’s public Ethereum wallet directly from a wallet tied to a major theft and the ongoing investigation.
