U.S. President Donald J. Trump was asked just now if he thinks NATO countries should shoot down Russian aircraft that violate their airspace, to which he responds, “Yes I do.” Trump was then asked if he still “trusts” Russian President Vladimir Putin, answering, “I’ll let you know in about a month from now.”

Wow, in a post just now on Truth Social, U.S. President Donald J. Trump says that after getting to know and understand the military and economic situation between Ukraine and Russia, and the economic trouble being imposed on Russia, “I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form. With time, patience, and the financial support of Europe, and, in particular, NATO, the original Borders from where this War started, is very much an option.” President Trump then states that the war is making Russia look like a “paper tiger” before adding, “most of their money is being spent on fighting Ukraine, which has Great Spirit, and only getting better, Ukraine would be able to take back their Country in its original form and, who knows, maybe even go further than that!” Ending the post by stating that, “We will continue to supply weapons to NATO for NATO to do what they want with them. Good luck to all!”

This might be one of the biggest 180s I have see in regard to foreign policy by the Trump Administration. Trump is now suggesting that Ukraine has the opportunity to recapture all regions of Eastern Ukraine, Crimea, while possibly capturing parts of Russia. Russia is not going to be happy in the slightest and I would expect further escalation against Europe and the United States.

Trump telling NATO to shoot down Russian aircraft and Ukraine to recapture Crimea was not on my bingo card for today’s United Nations General Assembly.

Ryan Routh, 59, the man who attempted to assassinate President Donald J. Trump at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida last September, has been found guilty by a jury of all charges, which consists of five federal criminal counts, including attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer, and multiple firearms offenses. The charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison, with Routh attempting to stab himself in the neck with a pen after the guilty verdict was read, but was stopped in his apparent “attempted suicide” by court officials.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky following his meeting today with U.S. President Donald J. Trump: “Trump realized that Putin was sharing with him information about the battlefield situation that was far from the truth. Now he trusts me much more because the information our intelligence possesses, we share with our partners. In September, we de-occupied 360 km² and we control a certain number of Russian soldiers who were encircled.”

U.S. President Donald J. Trump in a meeting earlier with French President Emmanuel Macron, “The biggest disappointment, but I think that it will happen eventually, is the Ukraine and Russia situation, but we’ve settled — I thought that was going to be the easiest one because of my relationship with Putin, but unfortunately that relationship didn’t mean anything unfortunately.”

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth spoke yesterday with Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur for the first time since last week’s incursion by several Russian fighter jets into Estonia’s Airspace over the Gulf of Finland. Secretary Hegseth affirmed the U.S. War Department stands with all NATO allies and that any incursion into NATO Airspace is unacceptable, commending the quick response by European allies' air defenses stating it showed NATO at its best, ready and focused on their core mission. The Secretary ensured the Minister that he was in close consultation with the Supreme Allied Commander for Europe about next steps and would continue to closely track the situation in Eastern Europe.

I expect Russia will continue to test and push NATO’s “resolve” in Northern and Eastern Europe over the coming weeks, especially after today, though we will have to see who is willing to actually follow through with today’s suggestion by President Trump. Escalation by Russia against Europe won’t stop until direct action is taken, and such direct action would likely need to entail burning MiGs and/or Sukhois.

Nuclear strike exercises are currently underway in France, with at least 5 Airbus A330 Multirole Tanker Transports (MRTT) currently up over the country alongside an E-3F “Sentry” Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Aircraft and an untold number of Dassault Rafale Bs with France’s Strategic Air Forces. (FAS). The exercise, dubbed Operation Poker, is carried out at various intensities and times throughout the year, consisting of three phases:
1. Preparation
2. Long-Range Raid

While the exercise is usually a solo operation by France, I can’t help but wonder if the recent rare deployment of a U.S. Navy E-6B “Mercury” Airborne Nuclear Command Post and Communications Relay to Ramstein Air Base in Germany is somehow linked to this iteration of Poker or maybe an upcoming snap nuclear exercise by NATO.

Very interesting, it appears as though a flight of U.S. Air Force B-2A “Spirit” Long-Range Strategic Stealth Bombers are currently preparing to cross the Atlantic towards Europe. All while nuclear strike exercises are ongoing in France and a U.S. Navy E-6B “Mercury” Airborne Nuclear Command Post and Communications Relay sits at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
