The Civil Aviation Authority of Islamic Republic of Iran has extended its Notice-to-Airmen (NOTAM) last year suspending all flights and general aviation operating via Visual Flight Rules (VFR), with the exception of medical, search-and-rescue, government, military, and the National Iranian Oil Company, which was set to expire January 30, 2026. Despite what some accounts have stated, this is not a new notice and has been in place for the entirety of Iranian Airspace since at least November 1, 2025, with this latest NOTAM just extending the notice till April 25, 2026. The NOTAM does not suggest any kind of imminent military action against or by Iran.
