Attacks Helicopters operated by the Syrian Government target Pro-Assad Forces in the Latakia Countryside, following Heavy Clashes ongoing near the Town of Beit Ana.

The Syrian Government is deploying Security and Military Reinforcements to the Latakia Governorate, following ongoing Clashes with Pro-Assad Forces.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated earlier today that French President Macron’s call for expanding France’s nuclear deterrent to include other countries in Europe, is a “threat” towards Russia. Lavrov also reiterated Russia’s opposition towards NATO troops being used to enforce a ceasefire in Ukraine, stating, “We see no room for compromise. This discussion is being held with an overtly hostile aim.”

Syrian Military and Security Forces have launched a Massive Counter-Insurgency Operation in and around the Coastal City of Jableh in the Latakia Governorate, after a Patrol was ambushed earlier by Pro-Assad Militias, resulting in at least 5 Officers to be killed while several others were killed and injured in the Clashes which followed.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has announced in a post on Truth Social, that after speaking with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum he has agreed to a one-month delay on tariffs for all goods covered under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which includes most if not all Mexican imports into the United States. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has stated that a one-month delay for the tariffs on Canada is likely to also be announced soon.

According to NBC News, U.S. President Donald J. Trump has discussed recently with aides, the possibility of major changes to the United States’ participation within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), which could include a prioritization on engagement for member states that spend a certain percentage of their Gross Domestic Product (GDP), between 2-5%, on defense. Trump Administration Officials have stated that as part of this policy shift, the U.S. may not come to the defense of or hold military exercises with a fellow NATO member, if the country does not meet a specific defense spending threshold.

According to a release from the Finnish Air Force, two U.S. Air Force (USAF) B-52H strategic bombers conducted joint exercises with Finnish Air Force F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets and dropped Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM) on targets at the Rovajärvi firing range in Finland. This marks the second B-52H flight with partner nation forces this week.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump convened a meeting today of his Cabinet at the White House, which included his senior advisor Elon Musk, to deliver a message: “You’re in charge of your departments, not Elon Musk.” According to administration officials, Trump told top members of his administration and department heads that Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) were empowered to make recommendations to the departments, but not to issue any kind of unilateral decisions on either staffing or policy. This appears to follow concerns and confusion amongst both Democratic and Republican lawmakers, about what Elon Musk’s true role is within the administration; which has now begun to cause legal complications, as President Trump and other officials continually refer to him as the “Head of DOGE” such as during Trump’s recent address to Congress, which required a correction later from the White House who stated that Amy Gleason, not Musk, was the Acting-Administrator of DOGE.

While speaking today on the sidelines of the European Union leader’s summit in Brussels, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated that they need to think of a more “durable solution” then just sending a force of European and/or NATO peacekeepers to Ukraine, suggesting that Ukraine should be given the security guarantees of a NATO member nation under Article 5, without obtaining actual membership in NATO.

The 8th Launch of SpaceX’s “Starship” Two-Stage Fully Reusable Super Heavy-Lift Launch Vehicle failed tonight for the second time in a row, shortly after takeoff from Starbase in Brownsville, Texas at roughly 5:30pm CST. Similar to the launch of Starship Flight 7, which failed in January, Debris from the Launch Vehicle was seen reentering the Earth’s Atmosphere near the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Western Atlantic, causing a number of Diversions and Flights Delays by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

U.S. President Donald J. Trump announced during an event earlier today at the White House, that the French shipping and logistics company, Compagnie maritime d’affrètement - Compagnie générale maritime or CMA CGM, would be investing $20 billion into the United States. The deal will create upwards of 10,000 jobs as well as include the expansion of container ports and the creation of an air cargo hub in Chicago.

CMA CGM, the largest French shipping and logistics company with a global presence, is the same company to be the first foreign entity to open business in a Syria controlled by the new transitional government. We covered this at the time.

Amidst ongoing clashes, albeit now intermittent, between forces of the Syrian Transitional Government and Iran-backed/former Assad regime forces in the Latakia Governorate, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has said that more than 70 people have been killed, with dozens more wounded in the clashes.

China is now attempting to exploit recent statements and actions made by the Trump Administration against Europe, with China’s Special Representative for European Affairs, Lu Shaye stating yesterday that he was “appalled” by the way President Trump had treated allies in Europe, while adding that a peace deal in Ukraine should not be dictated by the United States and Russia alone, but also by Ukraine itself and Europe. Lu further stated to Chinese state media, “Are people still asking whether China is leaning towards Russia? If they are, they should blame the U.S. too. The U.S. is not only leaning towards Russia, they are supporting Russia.”

These kind of statements from Chinese officials, especially known “Wolf Warriors” like Lu Shaye, will likely continue over the coming weeks and months ahead, as the Trump Administration pursues its inflammatory rhetoric against Europe, NATO and Ukraine. China will attempt to exploit this to the full degree, as they wish to increase and eventually normalize relations with Europe, which have soured in recent years due to China’s clear support for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
