In a post earlier on Truth Social, U.S. President Trump claims that he has instructed the Secretary of Commerce to add an additional 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum coming into the United States from Canada, in response to a recent retaliatory tariff of 25% by the Province of Ontario, on electricity used to power 1.5 million homes in Michigan, Minnesota and New York; with Trump stating that he will be declaring a National Emergency on Electricity within these States.

President Trump then threatens to “permanently shut down the automobile manufacturing business in Canada” if Canada does not drop a 250% to 390% tariff on U.S. dairy products, which he doesn’t state only kicks in after a certain quantity of tariff-free U.S. dairy enters Canada, a quantity that was originally negotiated and agreed to by Trump during the USMCA in 2018.

Finally to end out the post, President Trump then goes on a several sentence “rant” about how all tariffs will end and taxes will be reduced if Canada agreed to become the 51st State of the United States, with him stating, “The artificial line of separation drawn many years ago will finally disappear, and we will have the safest and most beautiful Nation anywhere in the World — And your brilliant anthem, “O Canada,” will continue to play, but now representing a GREAT and POWERFUL STATE within the greatest Nation that the World has ever seen!”

U.S. President Trump continues with threats against Canada for the recent 25% electricity tariff imposed by the Province of Ontario on homes in the States of Michigan, Minnesota and New York, stating that Canada “will pay a financial price for this so big that it will be read about in History Books for many years to come!”

Following today’s meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia between U.S. and Ukrainian officials, the Ukrainian Government has announced its support for a 30-day ceasefire with Russia, which would still require approval from the Russian Government; with the United States agreeing on the immediate resumption of intelligence-sharing and military aid to Ukraine.

The U.S. House of Representatives has just narrowly-passed a bill, by a vote of 217-213 to keep federal agencies funded until September, as the Trump Administration and most Republicans scramble to prevent a “Government Shutdown” on Friday at midnight; with the bill now moving on to the Senate.

The Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist group located in Western Yemen, has announced today the resumption of attacks on Israeli-linked shipping vessels transiting the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and Bab al-Mandab Strait, after Israel did not restart the flow of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. They state that the attacks like continue until Israel reopens border crossings with Gaza, to allow the flow of aid, food and medicine.

After staffers at the U.S. Department of Education (DoE) in Washington D.C. received an email earlier today, notifying them that they must leaving the building tonight by 6:00pm for “security reasons.” The Department has now announced it will be laying-off nearly 50% of its workforce in the next two weeks, with upwards of 1,300 of the DoE’s 4,100 federal employees to be placed on administrative leave beginning on Friday, March 21st. This appears to follow President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of Education Linda McMahon’s plan to gut and eventually totally eliminate the Department of Education.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced earlier today that he would be suspending a 25% surcharge on Canadian electricity going to 1.5 million homes in Michigan, Minnesota and New York, in retaliation for recent tariffs by the United States against Canada, after Ford states he had a “productive conversation about the economic relationship between the United States and Canada” in a call Tuesday with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. This also follows several posts by U.S. President Trump earlier on Truth Social, in which he threatened to place additional tariffs on Canada if the electricity surcharge and others economic measures were not lifted, before adding, “The only thing that makes sense is for Canada to become our cherished Fifty First State. This would make all Tariffs, and everything else, totally disappear.”

Almost immediately after today’s Ukrainian announcement of support for a U.S-backed ceasefire in Ukraine, Russia responded by launching a ballistic missile attack against the Ukrainian port city of Odesa on the coast of the Black Sea; launching several “Iskander-M” short-range ballistic missiles equipped with cluster warheads against the city. The attack damaged the Barbados-flagged cargo ship, M/V MJ PINAR, and killed at least 4 crew members, 3 of which were Syrian Nationals.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced the United States’ support of yesterday’s agreement signed between the U.S-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Government, which will see the integration of Kurdish military and civil institutions in the northeast of the country into the Syria State. Rubio added, “The United States reaffirms its support for a political transition that demonstrates credible, non-sectarian governance as the best path to avoid further conflict.”

Sky News reports that the Captain of the Portuguese-flagged cargo ship, M/V Solong, which collided yesterday with the U.S-flagged petroleum tanker, Stena Immaculate while anchored in the North Sea off the coast of England, is a Russian National along with some of the crew, and has been arrested by British authorities on suspicion of manslaughter. The Stena Immaculate was transporting Jet-A1 fuel for the U.S. Department of Defense when it was t-boned by the Solong, who appears to have made no effort to slow down prior to ramming the Stena.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has confirmed in a press release that former Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has been turned over to the custody of the ICC today by authorities of the Philippines. The former president was arrested 2 days ago by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police, who were serving an ICC warrant for his arrest.
