Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced the conclusion of a round of negotiations between the U.S. and Ukraine in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia today. Additionally, Minister Umerov highlighted the ongoing talks surrounding future U.S.-Ukrainian cooperation in their energy sector.

Impeached South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who was impeached late last year for his actions following the martial law imposition, had his impeachment overturned in a 7-1 vote by South Korea’s Constitutional Court today. Han was impeached back in December of 2025 for failing to appoint justices reviewing Yoon Seok-Yoel’s impeachment. Han will now take over again as acting president from the finance minister, Choi Sang-mok. It’s yet unclear when the court will make a ruling on President Yoon’s impeachment.

Ukrainian Special Forces recently carried out an operation in the Belgorod Region of Western Russia, which resulted in the discovery of a temporary helicopter airfield being utilized by the Russian Air Force, which was then swiftly targeted by Ukrainian High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), causing the total destruction of 2 Mi-8 Transport Helicopters as well as significant damage to 2 Ka-52 Attack Helicopters.

In a post earlier today on Truth Social, U.S. President Donald J. Trump announced that he would be imposing secondary tariffs on Venezuela, “for numerous reasons, including the fact that Venezuela has purposefully and deceitfully sent to the United States, undercover, tens of thousands of high level, and other, criminals, many of whom are murderers and people of a very violent nature.” According to the post from President Trump, after April 2nd any country which purchases oil or gas from Venezuela, will be required to pay the U.S. a 25% tariff on any future trade done with companies within the United States.

An absolute insane story today from The Atlantic, whose Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg as well as possible others appear to have been inadvertently added to a conversation over Signal earlier this month by U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, in which Waltz, Secretary of State Pete Hegseth, Vice President JD Vance, and other officials with the Trump Administration discussed whether the now ongoing strike operation against the Houthis in Yemen should take place and its extent.

In the article, “The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans” Goldberg states that he was connected with Waltz with through Signal on March 11th, before eventually being added to a group noscriptd “Houthi PC small group” where details about the strikes in Yemen were discussed, prior to them being launched by the U.S. Navy and Air Force on March 15th.

Goldberg states that over the two day period he was in the groupchat prior to the strikes, senior officials in the Administration debated whether they should take place, with Vice President JD Vance suggesting that large-scale strikes should not be launched, because most Americans did not care about and were not being affected by the attacks on ships in the Red Sea, while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth argued in favor of the strikes and their usefulness in deterring future attacks against shipping through the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

Then roughly two hours before strikes against the Houthis in Yemen began on March 15th, Goldberg states he received a message in the chat from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth noscriptd, “TEAM UPDATE” adding that he would not be quoting the message exactly, due to it and forthcoming messages containing top-secret information which Goldberg states, “If they had been read by an adversary of the United States, could conceivably have been used to harm American military and intelligence personnel, particularly in the broader Middle East, Central Command’s area of responsibility. What I will say, in order to illustrate the shocking recklessness of this Signal conversation, is that the Hegseth post contained operational details of forthcoming strikes on Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying, and attack sequencing.”

Brian Hughes, Spokesman for the White House National Security Council was later asked by Goldberg about the conversation, to which he stated, “This appears to be an authentic message chain, and we are reviewing how an inadvertent number was added to the chain. The thread is a demonstration of the deep and thoughtful policy coordination between senior officials. The ongoing success of the Houthi operation demonstrates that there were no threats to troops or national security.”
