The Israel Defense Force and Shin Bet announced this morning in a joint statement that Mohammed Saleh al-Bardawil, a senior member of Hamas who served as a propaganda and psychological terror operative, was eliminated by a precision-airstrike on Khan Younis in Southern Gaza on Monday. Bardawil worked as a broadcaster for the Hamas-operated Al-Aqsa Radio, during which “he took an active part in producing the cynical propaganda videos distributed by the terrorist organization Hamas, in which the abducted Israelis were filmed during their captivity in Gaza.”

According to Yonhap News, South Korea and the United States have agreed on a plan to temporarily relocate several MIM-104F “Patriot” PAC-3 Surface-to-Air Missile Batteries from U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) to the Middle East, as tensions continue to grow with Iran. The agreement comes following reports last week from NBC News that U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth had authorized at least two “Patriot” Missile Batteries as well as a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Anti-Ballistic Missile Battery be moved from Asia to the Middle East; while flight trackers observed dozens of military cargo flights from Osan Air Base in South Korea to Isa Air Base in Bahrain.

CNN is reporting that the 6 B-2 “Spirit” Long-Range Strategic Stealth Bombers with the 509th Bomb Wing, which arrived recently at Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, are being used for strikes against the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist group in Yemen.

In addition to the 6 B-2 “Spirit” Long-Range Strategic Stealth Bombers at Diego Garcia, CNN reports that the U.S. Navy and Air Force is utilizing AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles (JASSM), AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapons (JSOW), and Ship-launched Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles (TLAM) against the Houthi terrorist group in Yemen.
The cost of the operation is reported to be nearing $1 Billion in less than three weeks, as officials state that the strikes have had only a “limited impact” on the Houthis’ military capabilities, with them continuing to launch both ballistic/cruise missiles and drones at U.S. naval vessels in the Red Sea as well as at Israel.
The large-scale operation is also said to have rattled some officials at U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM), who have complained in recent days and weeks about the large number of long-range munitions being expended by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) against the Houthis, particularly the JASSMs and Tomahawks. Those weapons would be critical in the event of a war with China, and military planners at INDOPACOM are concerned that the CENTCOM operation could have a negative impact on U.S. military readiness in the Pacific.

Interesting, following recent threats by Iran, that they would target Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean with long-range ballistic missiles and drones if the United States used the island to launch strikes against Iran; @MT_Anderson on X has now spotted an Arleigh Burke-Class Guided-Missile Destroyer, believed to be the USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG-108), on satellite imagery cruising near Diego Garcia. The USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG-108) as a Flight IIA Destroyer, is equipped with Baseline 9.2.1 (BMD 5.1) of the Navy’s Aegis Combat System, which allows the Meyer to simultaneously conduct air warfare alongside ballistic missile defense (BMD).
