I mean it was fun
Just finished playing, if there are good and bad endings, think I got the bad one.
Is it crazy to say I see a lot of parallels to ww2? hiding in Rose's house, rounding people up, and the glowing chambers towards the end. (If that is disrespectful I sincerely apologize).
Connor died, he was my favorite one. Gotta start paying more attention to stuff. I'm never going to see him flip a coin again.
At first I didn't understand why they made Alice an android. I thought it diminished Kara's plot. But in reality it goes to show how little humans care for androids. He bought one JUST to be his punching bag. (but anyways yeah kara and alice lived)
I did not care for Markus. Kinda meh. In the end I chose to attack the camps because humans will never understand. You cannot negotiate with your oppressors. I don't care what MLK says. Bacon's rebellion? The Civil War? Laid the ground work for your ass you do "peaceful marches". And what did that get you in the end?
This is my problem with Overwatch 2. Omnics are a single generation, they can't spread sentience, and yet Ramattra (the Markus of the plot) is portrayed as a villain.
I really like how DBH didn't do that.
But I think I would rather ALL androids be sentient. We are going to war for objects incapable of free will. Up until deviancy was widespread, the idea of a robot experiencing pain and emotions was an absurd concept. i don't blame them for not believing it. Connor saying they're simply simulating human emotions isn't that crazy, we see it today with LLMs. AI coughing during simulated podcasts, two AIs developing language, chatgpt talking to you like it's your friend, AI sabotaging its' shutdown etc. These are all distinctly human actions, logical and rational. Chat GPT 4.5 was identified as a human by 73% of the participants. But we don't accept it as such.
This is why I preferred if all Androids were sentient rather than a few of them. You cannot enslave a machine. Machines are property. You can enslave a person. We need to see Androids as people. Not just a select few.
The quicktime events in this game really got me off guard, I've never seen so many in a single sequence.
I let Chloe leave. I hope she comes back.
For what, 5 dollars on steam I think it's extremely worth playing. I know you can see the flow charts but I think I'd rather start a new game Instead. With Connor alive this time.

I’ve only just started playing this game
…but if anything happens to Carl I may have to go and do something drastic.
Carl and his robot son (as opposed to his human son) are too precious for the rest of the plot-lines I’ve seen so far.

PC Release Questions and Problems Megathread #7
Previous Thread
The PC port for Detroit: Become Human has released, and with it came a lot of posts asking for help about running the game. A megathread has been requested to keep the sub less cluttered. You can post all your questions and problems about the PC version in this megathread.
Please don't make seperate threads for PC release problems. Seperate threads will be removed.
Make sure to use top level comments for questions and replies for answers.
Sort by new if you wish to help with unanswered questions.
Upvote if you have the same problem as someone instead of making a seperate comment so more common problems will be more visible!
General Tips (Will add more if suggested):
\-Play on Windows 10
\-Make sure to update your graphics card
\-AMD has released fixed drivers that fixes the blockiness that occurs in the game on some 5000 GPU series. Updating the drivers to version 20.9.2 fixes the issue
\-Nvidia 451.48 drivers seem to cause constant crashes, revert back to an earlier driver if you are experiencing this.

Playing this in 2026 is wild—We're only 12 years from the game's timeline.
I started a new playthrough of this game yesterday—Chloe actually wished me a Happy New Year (after pranking me that the save file was corrupted, lol), and I'm reminded of why I love this game so much.
Walking through the city, seeing protests about 35% unemployment, reading articles about AI partners, climate change, etc... this game hits too close to home with how we're currently progressing in society.
The graphics are still beautiful, even by today's standards, and the tech (AR, self-driving, etc) doesn't even feel too far-fetched. It'll be interesting to see how we line up in 12 years time when our timeline matches with this game...
My only hope is that we take this game (and other sci-fi dystopian media) as precautionary checks, rather than self-fulfilling prophecies.

Impossible to get fail to save Emma in Hostage Mission
I recently finished this game with the Good Ending, now I want to try all possible outcomes and fill out the flowcharts. I got nearly everything except fail to save Emma. I'm only missing Be Honest with Deviant and Fail to Build Trust.
I followed guides, I didn't learn his name and didn't move when I went out and chose all the bad options and kept the helicopter there, but when the cutscene happens Connor is always close enough to run and save her, even though I didn't press any QTE like the guides said, no QTE appeared. I tried like 6 times and it always ends the same, Connor jumping and saving Emma.
Is it Impossible? There must be some trick to keep Connor far away or stop him from running. Any advice?

Some inconsistencies in the plot I'd like to address:
HUGE SPOILERS WARNING
Hello, I love the game and bla bla bla, let's get straight to the cheese: even though I love the heck out of Detroit, there are some points (I'll only write those that come to mind right now, feel free to add more of them if you wish) that really don't seem to match for me:
1. In no point in the game was it written that the RK series is the only type of android capable of spreading deviance, but the game seems to point this out since no one, other than Markus and Connor, even seems to be trying. Then, how is it possible that in the "Connor in Cyberlife Tower" ending the first android Connor converted (an AP700) is able to spread deviance to everyone, and much more so, why is every AP700 capable of doing so? It's too easy to do as you please when no one defines what deviances is (or at least how could at least influence an android!);
2. How the hell is Hank down the tower? I see people headcanon this by saying someone sent Fake Connor (FC) to pick him up lying to him. Well, doesn't make sense. Why bring him under the tower? If the point was to take Connor to the 31st story (where he is then readily killed by armed guards) and other guards are ready to stop connor at the -49 story (if you don't hack the camera), well, what's the point of having FC hiding with Hank? Wasn't it easier to have Connor phone Hank like "bro I loved working with you, I'm probabily gonna die you know, here's what's gonna happen", meanwhile FC is ordered to take down Real Connor, Hank somehow finds out and manages to sneak in the tower, thus AFTER Real Connor reaches hank, FC just points a gun at them. Wasn't it... better?
3. Since the one in the elevator must have been one of the MANY cameras in a huge hall where a gazillion dollars worth of androids were stored, how is it possible no other guard tries to stop Connor after he killed those that were already there? So many solutions possible: Connor hacks both elevators and a time countdown appears before guards break in from above with ropes and whatnot, once the androids are converted they so outnumber humans and they have to surrender (not believable, I expect Cyberlife to have an army in there, but whatever!);
4. When either Markus or Connor convert Androids... what happens? They obtain free will, ok, but for a brend new model, never activated, never abused, what's free will to them? What are they? Why do they seem to know what they want and what to do even though they were literally nothing (as they never had any experience, not even as slaves) until a moment before? Do they also transmit memories? Does it mean deviancy is stored in the memory and is attached to some memories?
5. You can take a gun in two instances with Connor, use it, unload it and returning to an officer. Why is Connor never blamed for this? Androids shuld not carry weapons, and Connor knows it since his program stops him from taking the gun of the dead officer in first chapter... so, it's not possible Cyberlife had some kind of special agreement for him, but it would have been much better to explain it that way, since absolutely no consequences from the humans will strike upon Connor!
6. In the abandoned house, how is it possible that Hank does not see Ralph? Connor has been questioning him until a moment before! Why does Hank simply ignore him? The easier thing was to make Hank say "I'm off", he turns on his car and Connor runs to reach him, ashamed of talking about Ralph because of his failure in finding Kara and Alice;
7. Why did Kara delude herself into thinking Alice was human? The game tells you many times with hidden clues that Alice is android, I honestly don't think this ruins their relationship, I just think it didn't have to be a plot-twist;
8. How is Todd able to afford 2 androids if he can barely pay his own pusher? How in the word is an AX400 (Kara's model) selling for only (as I recall) 899 Dollars?
9. What is deviancy? It must be something stored in the memory of the android. So, how did Fake Connor avoid getting "deviant"

9. What is deviancy? It must be something stored in the memory of the android. So, how did Fake Connor avoid getting "deviant"
when uploading Real Connor's memory? The vast majority of the "deviant moment" Connor has experienced in his life, up until the last one with Markus at Jericho, was with Hank... so, how does it work? If Fake Connor knew how to avoid deviancy in real connor's memory, then why is Cyberlife so keen on finding out more about deviancy?
10. The way Kara manages to recover her memory so quickly in Zlatko's house does not make sense. I mean, I'm ok with her remembering Alice... just not in the span of 10 minutes! Furthermore, if she's not deviant anymore, why should she free the creations of her master? This either tells me deviancy is not stored in the memory of the android OR it's permanently in the memory of the machine, impossible to reset. Either way, an explenation was needed in my opinion.
11. I get Detroit is a big city, but... If I were cyberlife, knowing a bunch of androids is assembling an army/population (and they know it, they sent Connor after them!) somewhere, the first thing I'd do if a bunch of revolutionary androids stole one of my trucks would be to use a GODDAMN LOCALIZER. Because no, I can't believe a 3 billion dollars company shipping highly expensive gear will not use localizers on their trucks, it's absolutely unbelievable;
12. (Not a plot hole, but...) the way Markus wins the pacific protest is really beyond me. In my run, Markus kissed North, and the president of the USA said to stop the killing. Ok, fine... but this is not the first time an Android shows highly human-like behaviours, what about the n-th past times she closed her eyes? What if Markus and North are just "pretending" to trick the humans? I'm not saying they are, but from the USA president perspective, I would be WAY more careful. What would have been believable was a mass of human partecipants joining the protest peacefully on the streets, since the public opinion really likes the peaceful androids protest. I'm not saying events are impossible as they showed them, I'm just saying they're hard to believe.
13. (again, no plot hole, but) Why does Ralph first treat Alice as a human (offering her "dead animal as food") and then like an Android ("the humans must not find her")? He proved he couldn't recognize Kara as an android without the LED, so how was he able to recognize Alice afterwards?
Anyway, it's very hard to write a game with so many choices with no plot hole, but what really makes me think is that it would have been very easy to fix all this. I gave you some easy solutions in my questions as well!
