Guys I'm cooked AF rn

I was using my desktop and laptop with one account .. then I used my friend's flash to make a bootable fedora installer .. I backed up my pc files and my friends flash files on my desktop,
After installing Fedora on my PC, when i open the desktop, guess wht? It also switched to Fedora😭😭😭

Now, I’ve lost all of my files and my friend’s files too😭😭😭

Here is how I recovered my files
Just simple steps, first update ur system and install the needed tools i used this commands

   sudo dnf update
   sudo dnf install testdisk photorec extundelete ddrescue scalpel
   

Then start the testdisk by typing this command

make sure u have enough space where u are saving the files
then it will show u the progress and how many files has recovered

     sudo testdisk
     

Then just follow these steps
i wish i could show u each steps with screenshoots but just follow these steps :

1, Select the disk where ur files were lost
2, Choose [EFI GPT] partition table type
3, Select [ Analyse ] to scan for lost partitions
4, Highlight the partition labeled Linux filesys. data and press P to list files
5, If u see ur files press C to copy them to a directory

then it will show u the progress and how many files has recovered

u can use photorec for specific file recovery like this

     sudo photorec
     

follow the screen instructions it is same to the first step....
