If you believe the #Hamas "surprise" attack on #Israel was due to an "intelligence failure," then it is YOU whose intelligence has failed. Israel's intelligence monitors everything, and the planning required for this coordinated, well-equipped attack would have triggered numerous red flags inside Israeli intelligence. No, this attack was ALLOWED to happen. Israel needed a 9/11-style event to garner public support for a larger offensive being planned against Iran. So Israel was willing to sacrifice a few thousand of its own people to sway public opinion. Their plan has worked. Now, the gloves are off and no western nation will criticize Israel for waging aggressive attacks against Hamas (Gaza), Iran, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and other targets Israel has long wanted to engage.
