🏛🏦 The Parliament of Georgia adopted a law on deoligarchization on the first reading.
It was supported by 80 deputies, with nine voting against.
It is one of the requirements from the European Commission for receiving the status of candidate for EU membership. The Georgian legislators decided to take the Ukrainian version as a basis. The list of oligarchs will definitely not include the richest man in the country, Bidzina Ivanishvili, but it will include opposition leaders: the founders of the Lelo party, former bankers Japaridze and Khazaradze, ex-President Saakashvili, and ex-Minister of Defense Kezerashvili.
