✔️ The abolition of the State Inspector Service and the creation of two independent institutions - the Special Investigation Service and the Personal Data Protection Service
✔️ the Parliament of Georgia did not share the prerequisites developed by the European Union for obtaining candidate status regarding the reform of the judiciary
✔️ the preparation of the draft law of Georgia "On the transparency of foreign influence" (in 2022) and its subsequent initiation are also indicated
✔️ a number of researches have identified significant shortcomings that do not meet the criteria for an effective investigation or violate the right to a fair trial
✔️ regarding the case of ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili, the report notes that the recommendations given by the expert group regarding the conduct of psychotherapy and physical rehabilitation were not / could not be implemented
✔️ In recent years, there has been a trend in the country towards restricting freedom of speech, including unlawful interference with professional activities, damage to property, assault, harassment, threats, violation of privacy, alleged illegal surveillance
✔️ the threat of restrictions on freedom of speech is also aggravated by the amendments to the Law of Georgia “On Broadcasting”, which is confirmed by the number of lawsuits filed in court against media organizations and their representatives
✔️ the right to assemble was limited. The administrative detention of protesters continued, they were accused of petty hooliganism and disobedience to the lawful demands of law enforcement officers. ✔️ the amendments made to the Code of Criminal Procedure on September 6, 2022 (the so-called law on wiretapping) allowed the investigating authorities to carry out covert investigative actions for a longer period of time
✔️ investigation of violent acts against LGBTQ+ people and journalists on July 5, 2021 does not meet the standards of an effective investigation
✔️ the situation with gender-based killings of women (femicide) has not improved for many years
✔️ child poverty remains one of the main problems of the country. Compared to 2021, the number of minors receiving the subsistence minimum increased by 40% in 2022 and amounted to 330,148 people
