Как согласно популярному но ошибочному представлению говорил Черчилль:

Не соглашаясь с выраженной мыслью, отмечу, что ироничным образом нынешнее правительство, будучи глубоко консервативным, наглухо лишено и ума, и сердца. Новости читать последнее время решительно невозможно: денно и нощно одни народные представители печатают фантастически вредоносные законопроекты, пока другие ездят за границу давать фантастически вредоносные заявления. Только за сегодня коалиция успела забраковать закон об электронных ярлыках для домашних насильников (по мнению Бен Гвира, вмешиваться стоит только после третьего нарушения), Гафни успел предложить уголовную ответственность против христианского миссионерства (сложно даже представить зачем), чем нанес очередной один удар по американо-израильским отношениям, а из-за абсолютно безмозглых заявлений Смотрича о несуществовании палестинцев (придумал их, надо полагать, Ленин), из Аммана отозвали израильского посла.

Единственное, что спасает страну от дальнейшего разрушения — шаббат, в который народные избранники, по всей видимости, богобоязненно вынашивают новые неожиданные идеи для государственного вредительства.

Письмо ректора университета о завтрашней забастовке:

Dear members of the Hebrew University community,
 
The Senate of the Hebrew University convened today (March 22, 2023) and decided by a majority vote that it is "strongly opposed to the legislative measures being promoted these days, which seriously harm democracy and may result in severe violations of human rights, including minority rights." The Senate determined that "we will not be able to continue as usual in view of the threats to the nature of the regime in Israel" and called, as a first step, "for the university management to shut down research and teaching on the day of shutdown planned for Thursday, March 23, and for each and every member of the faculty to hold a day of protest on that date."
 
The Senate's decision is a recommendation to the university management, which has decided at this stage not to shut down studies at the university tomorrow.
 
At the same time, the management announced in the discussion that it accepts the Senate's decision with full understanding, and it will respect the decisions of faculty members regarding teaching and research on Thursday 3.23, provided that they make up the course materials later in the semester.

Как и для всех политиков с авторитарными замашками, независимые СМИ для Биби и Бен Гвира — иноземная болезнь, вцепившаяся в сияющее невинной чистотой тело нации. Будучи иноземной болезнью, СМИ без остановки врут и клевещут ради дискредитации последнего заступника еврейского народа — Биби Нетаньяху и примкнувших к нему каанистов.

К счастью для Биби, не все израильские СМИ сдались без боя национальным предателям. К примеру, 14 канал особняком стоит на страже национальных ценностей — старой доброй трансфобии. В частности, как и всякой нации, евреям угрожает транс-идеология — всепоглощающий импульс лишить еврейских мальчиков всего мужественного, а девочек женственного. «Издевательство над несовершеннолетними» — гласит обложка свежего выпуска журнала, «Что это если не современный Содом и Гоморра» - подхватывает один из интервьюируемых, היחלשות הפגש и אישה גמלונית - замыкают прочие поборники традиций. В общем, всё как по методичке, под предательские аплодисменты либералов-леваков, ЛГБТК надругались над нашими детьми. Да спасёт их живительная легализация репаративной терапии. Тем временем закон в Израиле следующий:

1. Операции по корректировке пола можно проводить только с 18 лет и старше.
2. До 18 лет проводится только гормональная терапия, которая полностью обратима и требует одобрения родителей.
3. Процесс включает в себя тщательный психологический контроль и диагностику квалифицированными психологами, которые подтверждают, что человек готов к процессу.

Dear members of the Hebrew University community,
 
Last Friday, a number of members of the University Senate submitted a request for the Senate to convene today, in order to adopt decisions regarding how the University will operate in the coming period, in light of the planned moves in the political and public arena. Due to the importance of achieving agreement and cooperation between University Management, the University Senate and faculty members, we (the President and I) held many conversations over the weekend with faculty members who proposed and formulated a resolution text agreed upon by University Management and members of the Senate who submitted the meeting request. As a result, the request to hold a meeting of the University Senate was withdrawn, and instead a vote was held today at noon by members of the Senate to approve the joint resolution presented here as follows:
 
University Management and members of the Senate call on the government to immediately cease promotion of the legislation regarding the selection of judges. Following previous statements by University Management, and previous decisions of the University Senate, which warned against the legislation promoted by the government—legislation which is expected to seriously harm Israeli democracy, the Hebrew University will act as follows:
 
1. The teaching and research activity at the Hebrew University in the coming week will be adjusted, to allow members of the university community, academic staff, administrative staff and students, to take an active part in public demonstrations. University Management will determine that for one day (to be determined in coordination with other universities) classes will not be taught and instead activities will be allowed on and off campuses, primarily discussion circles. During the rest of the week, we will have various activities on and off the campuses. The meaning of inclusion is that we will allow lecturers and students to take part in various activities related to the public struggle, as they choose. We will ask lecturers who teach to make class material available to students who will not participate in class. Lecturers who choose not to teach during these days will complete the material later in the semester. We will apply the inclusion policy to administrative staff as well.
 
2. The University Management's position is that the point of no return from a legal and political point of view is the government's refusal to accept the High Court's rejection of the law for the selection of judges or an interim order in the matter, if so determined. In such a case and at this point in time, in the hope that we will not reach it, University management will support very significant steps that were not taken by university management in the past, we will do this as much as possible in coordination with other universities.
 
This is the decision that was made (by a large majority). Other universities made similar decisions today or are expected to make them tomorrow.
 
Dear friends, now I want to address you on a personal note,
I know that despite the large majority in the Senate, there are still quite a few in our community—among academic and administrative staff and the students—who have difficulty accepting the wording of the decision. Some feel that the wording of the decision leans too much to one side, while others think that the decision is not radical enough. I accept and embrace the criticism as well as the critics. We must continue to remember that it is our duty to accommodate different opinions, and to call for dialogue and moderation. I believe that each and every one of us who wants to ultimately maintain the strength of Israeli society, must recognize that no side in this terrible debate should win.
 
At the same time, the current situation requires us to act. The University is a space for raising ideas and creating knowledge.

Our University has been blessed with some of the greatest experts in their fields in Israel and the world. When almost all our experts from the relevant fields raise a red flag—experts who on a daily basis do not always agree on this or that policy—we cannot ignore it. This is the principle that guides our decisions.
 
It is important to acknowledge that the first signs of damage to academia are already visible, as a direct result of the government's legal actions: a conference in honor of a Nobel laureate that was planned was canceled by its participants—all of them renowned researchers from abroad; a major donor to another university threatens to immediately withdraw his continued support; a faculty member in a joint appointment with a university abroad decides instead of joining us to disconnect from us; senior researchers who cancel their acceptance to our prestigious institute. And many more such cases.
 
I assure you that we are committed to continuing to act in a way that we perceive to be the most correct and responsible towards the Hebrew University and also out of a deep commitment to Israeli society and the State of Israel. We will do this as much as possible while continuing to coordinate and cooperate with other universities.
