The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

"The fasting person has two joys: one when he breaks his fast, and the other when he meets his Lord."

فرد روزه‌دار دو شادی دارد: یکی وقتی که افطار می‌کند و دیگری وقتی که با پروردگارش ملاقات می‌کند.

(صحیح البخاری، ۱۹۰۴؛ صحیح مسلم، ۱۱۵۱)

Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims, during which they fast from dawn until sunset. It is a time for spiritual reflection, prayer, and community. Families gather to break their fast together, and acts of charity are emphasized. Ramadan concludes with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, a festival of gratitude and joy.

رمضان ماهی مقدس برای مسلمانان است که در آن از سپیده‌دم تا غروب روزه می‌گیرند. این زمانی برای تأمل روحانی، نماز و اجتماع است. خانواده‌ها برای افطار جمع می‌شوند و اعمال خیریه مورد تأکید قرار می‌گیرد. رمضان با جشن عید فطر، جشن شکرگزاری و شادی، به پایان می‌رسد.

An adverb clause is a dependent clause that functions as an adverb in a sentence, providing information about when, where, why, how, to what extent, or under what conditions something happens. Adverb clauses typically begin with subordinating conjunctions such as "because," "although," "if," "when," "while," "since," etc.

Examples of Adverb Clauses:

1. When it started to rain, we went inside.

Persian Translation: وقتی باران شروع به باریدن کرد، ما به داخل رفتیم.

2. I will call you if I finish my homework early.

Persian Translation: اگر زودتر تکالیفم را تمام کنم، به تو زنگ می‌زنم.

3. Although she was tired, she decided to go for a run.

Persian Translation: با اینکه او خسته بود، تصمیم گرفت به دویدن برود.

4. He studied hard because he wanted to pass the exam.

Persian Translation: او سخت درس خواند زیرا می‌خواست امتحان را قبول شود.

5. Since it was snowing, we stayed home.

Persian Translation: از آنجایی که برف می‌بارید، ما در خانه ماندیم.

Key Characteristics:

• Adverb clauses cannot stand alone; they need an independent clause to form a complete sentence.

Conditional clauses, also known as "if clauses," express conditions and their possible outcomes. They are typically classified into four main types: zero conditional, first conditional, second conditional, and third conditional. Below are the usages and examples of each type, along with their Persian translations.

1. Zero Conditional

Usage: Used for general truths or scientific facts. The result is always true if the condition is met.

Structure: If + present simple, present simple

Example:

• If you heat water to 100 degrees Celsius, it boils.

• اگر آب را به دمای ۱۰۰ درجه سانتی‌گراد برسانید، به جوش می‌آید.

2. First Conditional

Usage: Used for real and possible situations in the future. The condition is likely to happen.

Structure: If + present simple, will + base form of the verb

Example:

• If it rains tomorrow, I will stay at home.

• اگر فردا باران ببارد، در خانه می‌مانم.

3. Second Conditional

Usage: Used for unreal or hypothetical situations in the present or future. The condition is unlikely or impossible.

Structure: If + past simple, would + base form of the verb

Example:

• If I had a million dollars, I would travel the world.

• اگر یک میلیون دلار داشتم، دور دنیا سفر می‌کردم.

4. Third Conditional

Usage: Used for unreal situations in the past. The condition did not happen.

Structure: If + past perfect, would have + past participle

Example:

• If I had known about the party, I would have gone.

• اگر از مهمانی خبر داشتم، می‌رفتم.

Summary of Conditional Clauses

1. Zero Conditional: General truths (If + present simple, present simple)

• Example: If you mix red and blue, you get purple.

• ترجمه: اگر قرمز و آبی را مخلوط کنید، بنفش به دست می‌آورید.

2. First Conditional: Real future possibilities (If + present simple, will + base form)

• Example: If she studies hard, she will pass the exam.

• ترجمه: اگر او سخت درس بخواند، در امتحان قبول می‌شود.

3. Second Conditional: Unreal present/future (If + past simple, would + base form)

• Example: If I were you, I would take that job.

• ترجمه: اگر من جای تو بودم، آن شغل را می‌گرفتم.

4. Third Conditional: Unreal past (If + past perfect, would have + past participle)

• Example: If they had left earlier, they would have caught the train.

• ترجمه: اگر آنها زودتر رفته بودند، قطار را می‌گرفتند.

🔻Direct speech:

👉 To repeat the exact words of someone

👉 Two steps  to state any speech :

🔹 to repeat the words without  changing anything

* I want  a cup of coffee

🔹by adding the speaker's name followed by comma then  quotation marks and state the sentence.

* Akeno said, "I want a coffee"

👉 We can recognize the direct  speech because of the quotation marks

🔻Reported speech :
is reporting what other people say

🔻 indirect speech:

👉 In indirect speech we change the structure of the sentence

👉 In reported speech we:

🔹 1) Change pronouns

* Sam says, "I am happy." (Direct)
Sam said he was happy. (Indirect)

🔹2) Do backshifting

*Sarah said ," I  am doing the dishes."

* Sarah said  she was doing the dishes .

🔹3) Change adverbs

* Sarah said,"  I'm cooking now"  (direct)

* Sarah said  she was cooking  then. ( Indirect)

👉 The main parts of a reported speech sentence are:

🚩speaker

🚩Reporting verb ( said , told,  agree, complain ...... etc)

🚩 Doing some amendments:

🖇 We change the adverbs

🖇 We change the tense of the verb

Simple present 👉 simple past

* I live in London

* She said  (that) she lived in London.

Simple past 👉 past perfect (had+v3)

* Sam said , "I joined the group last week."

* Sam said that he had joined the group the previous week.

Present continuous 👉 past continuous.

* I'm running an activity now.

* She  told me that she was running an activity then.

Present perfect  👉 past perfect

Have/ has+v3👉 had+ v3

* I have painted  all the wall of the room.

* He told me that he had painted all the wall of the room.

Present perfect continuous 👉 past perfect continuous

* I have been studying for two hours

* She said that she had been studying for two hours

💯 Modality:

⭐️ Can 👉 could
He said, " he can swim fast"

* He said that he could swim fast.

⭐️ May 👉 might  (possiblity)

* She said," I may wash my clothes."

* She said that she might wash her clothes.

⭐️ May 👉 could ( permission)

* Yes you  may use my phone

* She said that yes I could use her phone.

⭐️ Must 👉 had to (obligation)

* You must clean the house

* She said I had to clean the house .

⭐️ Must 👉 Must  (expectation)

* You must be hungry
She said that I must be hungry
