Perseverance has landed!
The rover has landed successfully as expected! The rover’s computer has switched from entry, descent, and landing mode to surface mode. This initiates a series of autonomous activities for the first Martian day on the surface of the Red Planet. Perseverance Rover Sends Sneak Peek of Mars Landing
This high-resolution still image is part of a video taken by several cameras as NASA’s Perseverance rover touched down on Mars. A camera aboard the descent stage captured this shot.
While NASA’s Mars Curiosity rover sent back a stop-motion movie of its descent, Perseverance’s cameras are intended to capture video of its touchdown and this new still image was taken from that footage, which is still being relayed to Earth and processed.

Pfizer Vaccine Has Weaker Response Against South African COVID Variant, Study Hints
Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine produces a weakened immune response against the contagious variant found in South Africa, which has now also been identified in the US, a new study has suggested.
There was approximately a two-third reduction in how well antibodies produced by Pfizer's vaccine fought against a lab-made variant.
