On the platform previously known as Twitter, Elon Musk has apparently given orders to automatically remove those who follow the account of Palestine Action US (@Pal_ActionUS). Many people have reported that after following that account, their accounts automatically unfollow it. We can confirm this ourselves.

Whatever your politics in regard to Palestine, this is an important precedent. It confirms that Elon Musk bought Twitter in order to make it impossible for people to communicate except in ways that align with his personal agenda as a billionaire and racist.

Relying on X/Twitter to communicate means enabling Elon Musk to personally determine whom we can hear and whom is silenced.

A court in Rome has denied the request to release the anarchist political prisoner Alfredo Cospito from solitary confinement under the cruel “41bis” regime. Starting a year ago, Alfredo undertook a life-threatening four-month hunger strike demanding to be transferred. This coincided with solidarity actions throughout Italy and around the world.

Even Alfredo's worst enemies, officials from the anti-terrorism departments, recommended his transfer. But the court is determined to impose as much suffering as possible.

The Israeli military has begun the ground invasion of Gaza—even if, like Vladimir Putin, Benjamin Netanyahu prefers to use another term to describe it. This catastrophic decision will result in the slaughter of unthinkable numbers of Palestinians while further endangering everyone throughout the region.

Two decades ago, the United States military invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, blindly seeking revenge for the attacks of September 11, 2001. The occupations of those countries cost nearly a million lives, driving more people to join the jihadists. The subsequent rise of the Islamic State showed that the invasions had only strengthened the forces that the invaders claimed to be attacking. When the Taliban recaptured Afghanistan in 2021, it confirmed how pointless the carnage had been.

After decades of colonial violence and apartheid policies, the Israeli military is embarking on the same course today. We should do everything in our power to cut off the flow of military aid that is enabling them to pursue a policy of ethnic cleansing.

If the movement to stop the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq had succeeded, we would have saved countless lives and averted countless tragedies. The stakes are even higher today.

There is no way to stop to the bloodshed without putting an end to the colonial oppression of Palestinians.

The Israeli government has exponentially more arms and funding than any Palestinian group; across the course of decades, it has inflicted exponentially more casualties. Should anyone claim that “ethnic cleansing” is too strong a phrase to describe what the Israeli government is trying to do in Gaza, we direct you to this document, just leaked from the Israeli Ministry of Intelligence. It explicitly recommends the forcible permanent transfer of the entire Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip to the Sinai peninsula.

This is the textbook definition of ethnic cleansing—on a scale of millions of people.
