Today, housing activists once again occupied buildings on Friedrich-Engels-Straße in Cologne that belong to the Russian state—including 80 apartments that have been empty for years.

The police, of course, are protecting the property rights of the Russian government, with no concern for refugees or others who lack housing.

#ACAB—all cops are structurally enmeshed in the perpetuation of all forms of oppression.

Some background on today's occupation of the buildings in Cologne that belong to the Russian government. Activists already attempted to occupy them twelve days ago.

Against all cops, against all governments, against all landlords, against all wars.

While the EU welcomes Ukrainian refugees with open arms, thousands of people displaced by other wars have been trapped between Belarus and Poland, callously used as pawns in a struggle between governments.

We spoke with the anarchists of No Borders Team, who are defying the border guards to support them.

The first phase of the anti-war movement in Russia is drawing to a close, suppressed chiefly by brute force. We discuss the stakes of these protests, share reflections from Russian anarchists about why they hit a wall, and present translations of articles by Russian anarchist and feminist groups exploring why they oppose the war and how they intend to move forward from here.

In the age of disinformation, irony is dead. It's very dangerous to make false assertions of our own, even in jest.

Therefore, for April 1, we recommend "Put the Bots in Charge"—a set of demands composed entirely via predictive text generated on the basis of our early book Recipes for Disaster.

And After the War?

cwc.im/AftertheWar2022

How will the outcome of the war shape the prospects for social struggle in Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia?

We've translated a text from Russia exploring the perils of identifying with the Ukrainian government, emphasizing the responsibility liberals share for the situations in Russia and Belarus today, and discussing the opportunities and obstacles facing revolutionary movements in the region.

The war in Ukraine is a step towards a world of permanent militarization, in which the Israeli model of militarized policing will become the norm and brute force will be the chief means of resolving political differences. Massive refugee populations displaced by wars and economic and ecological crises will be segregated according to national and ethnic hierarchies—received into welcoming homes, crowded into internment camps, or pushed back into the borderlands to die.

In response, anarchists seek to establish solidarity between anti-war, anti-nationalist, and anti-state movements across all borders and lines of difference. Rather than identifying with any government or capitalist coterie (and pointing to the misdeeds of some to excuse the misdeeds of others), we aim to build the capacity to interrupt war and exploitation via grassroots action. Anticipating the challenges that social movements throughout the region will face after this war could help us to set our priorities.

The City in the Forest

Reinventing Resistance for an Age of Climate Crisis and Police Militarization

https://cwc.im/CityintheForest

Since April 2021, police abolitionists and environmentalists have been engaged in a furious struggle to prevent the destruction of a precious stretch of forest in Atlanta, Georgia, where the government aims to build a police training compound and facilitate the construction of a giant soundstage for the film industry. In the following analysis, participants in the movement chronicle a year of action, charting the movement’s victories and setbacks and exploring the strategies that inform it. This campaign represents a crucial effort to chart new paths forward in the wake of the George Floyd Rebellion, linking the defense of the land that sustains us with the struggle against police.

More World, Less Bank—An Oral History of the A16 Demonstrations against Global Capitalism

https://cwc.im/A16

On April 16, 2000, tens of thousands of people gathered in Washington, DC to mobilize against the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank. It was a watershed moment in the global anti-capitalist movement.

While the demonstrations that shut down the summit of the World Trade Organization in 1999 have become famous, this oral history including testimony and archival materials from dozens of participants in the demonstrations of A16 is among the first efforts to chronicle the subsequent mobilization in DC.

https://fr.crimethinc.com/steal-something-from-work-day

Tu l’as mérité !

Vom Boss ausgeraubt werden?

Am 15. April ist Beklau-deinen-Arbeitsplatz-Tag

https://de.crimethinc.com/steal-something-from-work-day
