The Du’aa of Abu Bakr Siddeeq رضي الله عنه when he was praised to his face:
" اللهم لا تؤاخذني بما يقولون ، واجعلني خيرا مما يظنون ، واغفر لي ما لا يعلمون "
“O Allāh, do not take me to account for what they say, and make me better than what they think, and forgive me for what they don’t know.”
You can fool people easily, but if people don’t know your reality, rest assured, Allāh knows it. We can’t fool our creator with our seemingly pious outer appearances and eloquent speech. Never let people’s positive opinions of you get to your head. If this was the Du’aa of the best man to walk the face of the Earth after the Prophets, then what should our attitude be when praised or thought well of?

Q. Is it permissible to make duaa for the health of a non-Muslim relative?
A. There is no duah for the unbelievers. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم in an authentic hadith made duah for a tribe called Daws (قبيلة دوس) and also in an authentic hadith he made duah for a tribe called Thakeef (قبيلة ثقيف) - for Allah to guide them. Allah answered his duah and He guided them to Islam. This shows us the permissibility of only making duah for the unbelievers for their guidance. That's the only exception. There is a unanimous consensus on this matter of making duah for the unbelievers to be guided.
The Jewish people used to come to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم purposely sneezing, hoping that the Prophet would say to them, "May Allah have mercy on you", just as is said to the believers. But on the contrary, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to say to them, "May Allah guide you!"
That is proof that (other than for guidance) you cannot make duah for the unbelievers.
It's mentioned in Soorat At-Tawbah verse 113: It is not permissible for the Prophet(s) and those who believe to ask for Allah's forgiveness for the unbelievers (those who disbelieve in the Oneness of Allah), even if they're your relatives.

And what cure could be better for a broken heart, than to be alone with the Most Loving?

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to the graveyard and said: "Peace be upon you! The abode of the believing people and we, if God so wills, are about to join you. I love to see my brothers." They (the hearers) said: Aren't we your brothers, O Messenger of Allah? He ﷺ said: You are my companions, and our brothers are those who have, so far, not come into the world.

AYAH OF THE DAY ✨
Al-Ma'idah 5:105
O you who believe! Take care of your ownselves, [do righteous deeds, fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)]. If you follow the right guidance and enjoin what is right (Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbid what is wrong (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden) no hurt can come to you from those who are in error. The return of you all is to Allah, then He will inform you about (all) that which you used to do.

Al-Baqarah 2:107
Know you not that it is Allah to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth? And besides Allah you have neither any Wali (protector or guardian) nor any helper.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Seek help from Allah and do not lose heart, and if anything (in the form of trouble) comes to you, don't say: If I had not done that, it would not have happened so and so, but say: Allah did that what He had decreed to do.”
[Sahih Muslim]

At-Tur - 52:35
English - Mohsin Khan/Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators?
English - Ibn Kathir
Affirming Tawhid and annulling the Plots of the Idolators. This is the position where Tawhid of Allah's Lordship and Divinity are affirmed.
Allah the Exalted said,
Or were they created by nothing? Or were they themselves the creators?
Allah asks them, were they created without a maker or did they create themselves? Neither is true. Allah is the One Who created them and brought them into existence after they were nothing.
Al-Bukhari recorded that Jubayr bin Mut`im said,
"I heard the Prophet recite Surah At-Tur in Al-Maghrib prayer and when he reached this Ayah,
Or were they created by nothing? Or were they themselves the creators? Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm belief. Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like?
I felt my heart would fly away."
This Hadith is collected in the Two Sahihs using various chains of narration.
Jubayr bin Mut`im went to the Messenger of Allah after the battle of Badr to ransom the captured idolators. At that time, he was still an idolator. Hearing the Prophet recite this Ayah was one of the reasons that he later embraced Islam.
