You need to start viewing the activities of the dunyā as side quests to your main quest: seeking the pleasure of Allāh. The ‘ibādāt you skip to get to work earlier, the ones you’ve abandoned because they no longer fit your busy routine, and the ones you’ve postponed indefinitely because there’s “never enough time”—these are your main quests.
When you decide that you cannot leave home without a focused Salāh, heartfelt dhikr, tadabbur, and sincere du‘ā; when your heart is renewed and your soul revived; when your ears are beautified with Qur’ān and your tongue stays moist with remembrance, then you’ve understood your mission.
Commute to work while in communication with Him. Sit at your desk aware of His presence. Take breaks that nourish not just your body but your soul through reflection and tazkiyah. Spend your weekends not merely unwinding or cleaning, but learning about Him, drawing closer to Him, and seeking His Face and Love through voluntary deeds.
When your main quest aligns with the true purpose of your existence, you will find peace. Your share of the dunyā will never miss you, so do not lose the ākhirah for it. (fajrwoman)

Al-Quran 22:7

Al-Quran 22:23
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُدۡخِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ يُحَلَّوۡنَ فِيهَا مِنۡ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٖ وَلُؤۡلُؤٗاۖ وَلِبَاسُهُمۡ فِيهَا حَرِيرٞ
Truly, Allah will admit those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, to Gardens underneath which rivers flow (in Paradise), wherein they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls and their garments therein will be of silk.

(23) إيمان ވެގެން صَالح عمل ތައް ކުރިމީހުން (قيامة ދުވަހުން) އެތަންތާނގެ ދަށުން އާރުތައް ހިނގަހިނގާ އޮންނަ ބަގީޗާތަކަކަށް އެބަހީ: ސުވަރުގެތަކަށް ހަމަކަށަވަރުން اللّه تعالى އެމީހުން ވައްދަވާހުއްޓެވެ. އަދި ރަނާއި ރަންމުތުގެ އުޅާތައް އެމީހުންނަށް އެސުވަރުގޭގައި އެޅުވޭނެއެވެ. އަދި އެސުވަރުގޭގައި އެމީހުންގެ ލިބާހަކީ ފަށުވި ފޭރާމެވެ.

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:
“The example of obedience that grows and increases, is like a seed that you plant, which becomes a tree, then bears fruit, and you ate this fruit and planted their seeds again and whenever the tree bears fruit you eat it and plant its seeds.
The exact example can be applied to sins and the way they increase. There is an old proverb and the wise will understand it:
‘The reward for good deeds is that they are followed by other good deeds, and the punishment for bad deeds is that they are followed by other bad deeds.’”

(24) (އޭ رسول اللّه އެވެ!) اللّه تعالى ރަނގަޅު ކަލިމައެއްގެ މިސާލުޖައްސަވަނީ ކޮންފަދައަކުންކަން ކަލޭގެފާނު ދެނެވަޑައިނުގަންނަވަމުތޯއެވެ؟ (އެމިސާލު ޖައްސަވަނީ) ރަނގަޅު ގަހެއްފަދައިންނެވެ. އެގަހުގެ މައިގަނޑާއި ބުޑު ރަނގަޅަށް ބިމުގައި ހަރުލާ ސާބިތުވެފައިވެއެވެ. އަދި އެގަހުގެ ގޮފިތައް މައްޗަށް އަރައިގެންގޮސް އުޑަށްގޮސްފައެވެ.

“Then Your Hearts Became Hard”: Tafsir al-Baghawi
قوله تعالى ( ثم قست قلوبكم ) يبست وجفت ، جفاف القلب : خروج الرحمة واللين عنه ، وقيل : غلظت ، وقيل : اسودت ، ( من بعد ذلك ) بعد ظهور الدلالات . قال الكلبي : قالوا بعد ذلك : نحن لم نقتله ، فلم يكونوا قط أعمى قلبا ولا أشد تكذيبا لنبيهم منهم عند ذلك ( فهي ) أي في الغلظة والشدة ( كالحجارة أو أشد قسوة ) قيل : أو بمعنى بل وقيل : بمعنى الواو كقوله تعالى : ” مائة ألف أو يزيدون ” ( 147 – الصافات ) أي : بل يزيدون أو ويزيدون . ـ
Allah’s statement:
ثُمَّ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُكُم
Then your hearts became hardened …
shriveled and dried up. And a dry heart is when mercy and kindness have left it. And some say that it means the heart has become coarse and rough, while others say it means that the heart has become black.
مِّن بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ
… after that …
after the evidences had been made clear.
فَهِيَ
… for they were …
in their coarseness and hardness
كَالْحِجَارَةِ أَوْ أَشَدُّ قَسْوَةً
… like stones or even harder
Some say that the word “or” here means, “or rather”. Others say the word “or” here means “and”, as it is used in Allah’s statement:
مِائَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ
One hundred thousand or even more [37:147]
meaning: “rather, even more” or “and even more”.
وإنما لم يشبهها بالحديد مع أنه أصلب من الحجارة ؛ لأن الحديد قابل للين فإنه يلين بالنار ، وقد لان لداود عليه السلام ، والحجارة لا تلين قط ، ـ
The reason why Allah did not compare their hearts to iron even though iron is harder than stone is because iron is amenable to being shaped, as it can be shaped and formed by fire, just as Dawud had done. However stones cannot be shaped at all.
ثم فضل الحجارة على القلب القاسي فقال : ( وإن من الحجارة لما يتفجر منه الأنهار ) قيل : أراد به جميع الحجارة ، وقيل : أراد به الحجر الذي كان يضرب عليه موسى للأسباط ( وإن منها لما يشقق فيخرج منه الماء [ ص: 111 ] ) أراد به عيونا دون الأنهار ( وإن منها لما يهبط ) ينزل من أعلى الجبل إلى أسفله ( من خشية الله ) وقلوبكم لا تلين ولا تخشع يا معشر اليهود . ـ
Allah then mentions the stones favorably when compared to hardened hearts, for He says:
وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْحِجَارَةِ لَمَا يَتَفَجَّرُ مِنْهُ الْأَنْهَارُ
For there are stones from which rivers burst forth
Some say that Allah is referring to all stones here, while others say that He is referring to the specific stone that Moosaa struck for the Children of Israa’eel.
وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَشَّقَّقُ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ الْمَاءُ
… and there are some that split open and water comes out …
this is referring to springs rather than rivers
وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَهْبِطُ
… and there are some that fall down …
run down from the tops of mountains to their bases
مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ
… out of fear of Allah.
while your hearts – O Jews – neither bend nor are they moved.
فإن قيل : الحجر جماد لا يفهم ، فكيف ( يخشى ) ؟ قيل : الله يفهمه ويلهمه فيخشى بإلهامه . ـ
Now, if one were to ask: Stones are inanimate without any understanding, so who do they “fear”?
Then the respond would be: Allah gives them comprehension and understanding so that they can fear with the understanding He has given them.
ومذهب أهل السنة والجماعة أن لله تعالى علما في الجمادات وسائر الحيوانات سوى العقل ، لا يقف عليه غيره ، فلها صلاة وتسبيح وخشية كما قال جل ذكره : ” وإن من شيء إلا يسبح بحمده ” ( 44 – الإسراء ) وقال ” والطير صافات كل قد علم صلاته وتسبيحه ” ( 41 – النور ) وقال : ” ألم تر أن الله يسجد له من في السماوات ومن في الأرض والشمس والقمر ) ( 18 – الحج ) الآية ، فيجب على ( المؤمن ) الإيمان به ويكل علمه إلى الله سبحانه وتعالى ـ
The approach of Ahl al-Sunnah w’al-Jamaa’ah is that Allah knows things about inanimate objects and other non-intelligent living beings that no one else knows. Such things have their own prayer, exaltation and fear, just as Allah has said:
وَإِن مِّن شَيْءٍ إِلَّا يُسَبِّحُ
There is nothing that does not exalt Allah … [17:44]
وَالطَّيْرُ صَافَّاتٍ ۖ كُلٌّ قَدْ عَلِمَ صَلَاتَهُ وَتَسْبِيحَهُ
… and the bird with outstretched wings. He knows the prayer and exaltation of each of them … [24:41]
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَسْجُدُ لَهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ

So every believer must believe in this while consigning the knowledge of it to Allah, high and exalted is He.
قوله عز وجل ( وما الله بغافل ) بساه ( عما تعملون ) وعيد وتهديد ، وقيل : بتارك عقوبة ما تعملون ، بل يجازيكم به ـ
Allah’s statement:
وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
And Allah is not unaware of what you do.
i.e. He is not inattentive to what you do. This is meant as a threat.
And some explained this to mean: And Allah will not leave you without punishing you for what you have done. On the contrary, He will repay you for it.

So every believer must believe in this while consigning the knowledge of it to Allah, high and exalted is He.
قوله عز وجل ( وما الله بغافل ) بساه ( عما تعملون ) وعيد وتهديد ، وقيل : بتارك عقوبة ما تعملون ، بل يجازيكم به ـ
Allah’s statement:
وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
And Allah is not unaware of what you do.
i.e. He is not inattentive to what you do. This is meant as a threat.

A person of ultimate joy seeks Allāh's forgiveness for his shortcomings and is steadfast in the face of difficulties. This is just as Allāh said:
[فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنبِكَ]
"So be steadfast, Allāh's promise is surely true. And seek forgiveness for your sins." [Ghafir 55]
Meanwhile, a person of ultimate misery becomes unsettled in the face of difficulties and uses al-qadr to explain away his shortcomings.

Al Al-An'am 6:67
لِّكُلِّ نَبَإٖ مُّسۡتَقَرّٞۚ وَسَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ

The Prophet ﷺ said:
لَيْسَ شَيْءٌ أَكْرَمَ عَلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى مِنَ الدُّعَاء
“There is nothing more honourable (noble) in the sight of Allah than du‘ā’.”
Q: Can we make du‘ā’ in the ṣalāh (prayer) in a language other than Arabic?
A: Yes — you may make du‘ā’ in your own language during the prayer, especially in places like sujūd, before the taslīm, or after the tashahhud. The only part of the prayer that must be in Arabic is Sūrat al-Fātiḥah (with the exception of the new revert who hasn’t been able to memorise it yet). Everything else — including your personal supplications — may be said in the language you understand. Allah understands all languages, and nothing you say is hidden from Him. If you know the du‘ā’ in Arabic, it is better to use it, but if you cannot, then it is fully acceptable to speak in your own language.
Allah said:
وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لِى وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِى لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُون
• Translation:
“And when My servants ask you concerning Me — indeed, I am near. I respond to the call of the supplicant when he calls upon Me.” (Surat al-Baqarah 2:186)
The Prophet ﷺ said:
• “The closest a servant is to his Lord is while he is in sujūd, so make plenty of du‘ā’.”
— (Muslim)
• After teaching the tashahhud, he ﷺ said: “Then let him choose whatever du‘ā’ he wishes.”
— (Bukhārī & Muslim)
This shows that a person can make any du‘ā’ they choose — including in the language they understand.
But this does not mean we stop making du‘ā’ in Arabic.
The supplications taught in the Qur’ān and Sunnah are deep, comprehensive, and perfectly structured. We may be hasty and simply say things like, “O Allah, give us good health.” But the supplications taught in the Quran and by the Prophet ﷺ include far more — protection from harm, wellbeing, guidance, blessings in this life and the next.
So while personal du‘ā’ can be in any language, learning and using the Quranic and Prophetic du‘ā’s in Arabic gives us the richness and completeness of what the Prophet ﷺ himself asked for.
رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةًۭ وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ حَسَنَةًۭ وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّار
“Our Lord! Grant us the good of this world and the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.”
