Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) said:
أيام عشر ذي الحجة أفضل من أيام العشر من رمضان، وليالي العشر الأواخر من رمضان أفضل من ليالي عشر ذي الحجة.
“The (first) ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are more virtuous than the (last) ten days of (the blessed month of) Ramaḍān, and the last ten nights of Ramadan are more virtuous than the (first) ten nights of Dhul-Hijjah.”
Imām Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) commented and said:
إذا تأمل الفاضل اللبيب هـذا الجواب، وجده شافياً كافياً.
"If the virtuous and intelligent one was to reflect upon this answer, he would find it satisfactory and sufficient."

Heart touching lines of poetry composed by Ibn Rajab about Ramadan and Night of al-Qadr
The years have past so carelessly—& in jest & in loss
How much have I lost from what I spent—in the days throughout my life
What do I have to say about my loss—in my life, is there any excuse?
How much have we been heedless of the—duty of praise and gratefulness [to Allah]
Did Allah not choose us—for a special month, and what a month it sure is
A month in which Ar-Rahman revealed—the best of all speech
Is it like any month? in it is the Night of Decree
How many narrations have come authentic—about the reward in that night
We have been informed through the trustworthy—that’s it is to be sought on the odd nights
Glad tidings to the one who seeks it—in the last ten nights
In it the Angels descend—with light and with mercy
And he [Allah] has said {Peace it is — until the rise of dawn} [Al-Qadr:5]
So secure it, indeed it is—from the most precious of those things saved
How many are freed in it—from the fire yet they don’t know

Make the Most of Laylatul Qadr
▫️Ibn Rajab رحمه الله said: "O you who has wasted the years of his life, there is nothing that will amend those lost and wasted years except for the night of Al-Qadr, for verily its value is equivalent to that of a lifetime."
● [لطائفُ المعارف ص ١٩١]
▫️Imam ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
"If the Night of Decree (Laylatul Qadr) comes once in a year, I would do Night Prayer (Qiyam al-layl) the whole year until I acquire the Night of Decree! So what would be your problem if its only ten nights?!"
Bada'iu' al-Fawaaidh 1/55
Via Ahlus-Sunnah :
▫️Al-Muhaddith Abû ‘Alî al-Hasanî said:
Whoever stands the [last] 10 [nights of ramadân in night prayer] has acquired Laylatul-Qadr.
▫️Al-Muhaddith Sulaymân al-‘Alwân said:
Making du’â’ during Laylatul-Qadr is well known and famous according to the sahâbah, and it has come in the sahîhayn from the hadîth of az-Zuhrî from Abî Salamah ibn ‘Abdir-Rahmân from Abû Hurayrah that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
Whoever stands [during] Laylatul-Qadr out of faith and in hope of reward, all his previous sins will be forgiven.
The statement “Whoever stands [during] Laylatul-Qadr”, means standing in salâh and making du’â’. And in this [hadîth] there is proof that it is legislated to make plenty of du’â’ during Laylatul-Qadr.
▫️‘Â’ishah said if I knew which night is laylatul qadr, I would not ask Allâh for anything except for well-being in it.
