Al-Ma'idah 5:74
English - Tafsir ibn kathir

Will they not repent to Allah and ask His Forgiveness For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

This demonstrates Allah's generosity, kindness and mercy for His creatures, even though they committed this grave sin and invented such a lie and false allegation. Despite all of this, Allah calls them to repent so that He will forgive them, for Allah forgives those who sincerely repent to Him.

“And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear” (Surah Al A’raf, 7:205)

وَٱذۡكُر رَّبَّكَ فِی نَفۡسِكَ تَضَرُّعا وَخِیفَة

There must be times for the servant to be alone with himself in his supplications, prayers, thinking, holding himself accountable, fixing his heart, and all matters pertaining to him in which no one else will share with him.

[Ibn Taymiyyah]

Self-reflection is vital for our spiritual growth. Let’s always dedicate some time in our day to reflect and be alone with Allah SWT.

Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilah (god), and Allah knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who then will guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember?

Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

‎"If a person does not have Allah as the focus of his love and will, and is too proud & arrogant, he will inevitably have something else as his focus, which will enslave him, whether it is wealth, power, or something that he takes as a god instead of Allah."

And had Allah willed, He could have made you (all) one nation, but He sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. But you shall certainly be called to account for what you used to do.

Abu Huraira reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:

Abu Sa'id and Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "When the dwellers of Jannah enter Jannah, an announcer will call: (You have a promise from Allah that) you will live therein and you will never die; you will stay healthy therein and you will never fall ill; you will stay young and you will never become old; you will be under a constant bliss and you will never feel miserable."

Sahl bin Sa'd (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
I was in the company of the Prophet (ﷺ). He gave a denoscription of Jannah and concluded with these words, "There will be bounties which no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human heart has ever perceived." He (ﷺ) then recited this Verse:

"Their sides forsake their beds, to invoke their Rubb in fear and hope, and they spend (in charity in Allah's Cause) out of what We have bestowed on them. No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy..." (32:16,17)
