In October 2001, the First Portuguese Nationalist Congress was held in Lisbon. The theme of the meeting was “the present and future of the Portuguese nationalists.” It gathered individuals from various tendencies of Portuguese nationalism: orthodox Salazarists, traditionalist monarchists, fundamentalist Catholics, fascist intellectuals of the 50s/60s, national revolutionaries of the 70s, and younger neo-Nazi-inspired activists of the 80s/90s.

The main interventions were the speech of Miguel Ângelo Jardim (keynote speaker) and Duarte Branquinho, leader of the organization Ordem Lusa, who was in the audience. Jardim’s presentation “Twenty-first-century nationalism: directions and solutions” was an attempt to apply Guillaume Faye’s ideas to the Portuguese context, defining the author of Nouvelle Droite as prophetic and genius.

In his speech, Jardim points to two central problems faced by European nations, including Portugal: The migration of aggressive non-European Muslims and the clashes between ethnic and neo-tribal groups in the great European metropolises, a scenario in which ethnocultural identity would be the last refuge of the Portuguese people. The speaker advocated the need to abandon the Eurafrican imperial myth so common in classical Portuguese nationalism, and Faye’s proposal of a Europe from “Brest to Vladivostok” should be extended to “Lisbon to Vladivostok.” That is, Portugal is the westernmost tip of a geopolitical bloc that includes Russia, excludes Turkey, and treats the US and Islam as enemies. This “Nation-Europe” would have a relationship of mutual respect with sub-Saharan Africa in political and economic terms but without any project of geopolitical integration. Jardim’s intervention was supported by Duarte Branquinho, who spoke from the audience defending a Portugal integrated into Europe in ethnic terms and not focused on rectangular Portugal or even on Portugal from “Minho to Timor.”

The latest FPÖ programme from 2011, adopted in Graz, effectively shows the ideological direction of the party’s development. This programme describes the FPÖ as Soziale Heimatpartei. This is quite a surprising term given the previous liberal nature of this party. It is clear that the FPÖ had to take the existence of the socially populist BZÖ into account. At the outset, the ten-point programme emphasises the value of freedom as the source of human dignity. However, freedom is no longer the main value in terms of the economy. In the fifth point, the programme emphasises that the party accepts the principles of the market economy, but it must take into account the public interest and concern for a fair redistribution of goods in Austrian society. Redistribution should also apply to a simple and efficient healthcare system, but not to foreigners. The 2011 programme frequently includes anti-immigrant proposals that exclude foreigners from the Austrian welfare state.

Hearing a lot from conservatives about ‘shared values’ defining nationhood.

By this logic, anyone who says the right things gets to be Australian.

That’s ridiculous.

People lie.

‘A nation united by shared values’ was the same message used to push multiculturalism & mass immigration, which is what got our country into such a mess in the first place.

We need to identify this phrase: ‘shared values’ as subversive & hostile to our country.

Imagine for example China claiming that anyone with ‘shared values’ can be Chinese. You can only imagine it because China isn’t that stupid.

Nationhood is ethnic. It’s based on blood, not on words & so-called values. If we don’t acknowledge this, we won’t exist as a truly national group.

You all should watch the new/upcoming series "Mussolini: Son of the Century"―it's considerably caricatural but admittedly quite brilliantly so & it's cinematographically brilliant, very much worth the watch.

Apparently after Tiktok was brought back online by Trump this week, users are being censored for posting “Free Palestine.”

This was clearly part of the terms negotiated by President Trump to extend Tiktok’s lifespan in the US. So far since Trump’s election we have seen increased censorship on X and Tiktok directly related to the issues of legal immigration and the war in Gaza.

This already vindicates my prediction that censorship might increase under Trump, especially due to the influence of his donors.
