Maduro ordered the deployment of FANB personnel this September 20th to neighborhoods and communities to train civilians in “weapon handling,” amid tensions with the US over its military presence in the Caribbean.

“The barracks, with their weapons, go to the communities… to teach the neighbors what weapon system handling is,” he said during an event in La Guaira.

Deputy Roy Daza, responsible for presenting the proposal, emphasized that "this treaty is signed by President Vladimir Putin and our beloved President Nicolás Maduro Moros. It is a message of peace, a message of sovereignty, it is a message of the strength of the Venezuelan people," concluded Daza.
