China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate has warned that using Tether as a medium of exchange between local and foreign currency is illegal.

The agency issued a joint statement with the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) on Dec. 27, urging local officials to implement stricter measures against Tether stablecoin use in cross-border foreign exchange transactions.

🇻🇪❌🇬🇾🇬🇧❗️ — On December 28, 2023, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro ordered the start of massive 'defensive military exercises' after the reports that British Navy sent a Royal Navy ship to the coast of Guyana as the tensions between Venezuela and the former British colony escalates

Under orders of Maduro, dressed in military uniform, the National Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela (FANB) ordered the immediate activation of the "General Domingo Antonio Sifontes" Joint Action, which involves the mass deployment of troops and equipment of Bolivarian National Armed Forces, on the eastern Caribbean and the Atlantic Facade.

"I have ordered the activation of a joint action by the entire Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) on the eastern Caribbean of Venezuela, on the Atlantic coast, a joint defensive action in response to the provocation and threat of the United Kingdom against the peace and the sovereignty of our country,” said Maduro.

Maduro did not give details about the scope and duration of this operation, but insisted that the arrival of the British HMS Trent is an “unacceptable threat” that is a “rupture” of the agreements he signed with his Guyanese counterpart, Irfaan Ali, last December 14, when they promised not to threaten each other and avoid incidents related to the dispute.

➡️ Britain’s military is preparing to launch a wave of air strikes against the Iranian-backed Houthis creating chaos in the Red Sea, raising the prospect of a significant spiralling of tensions in the region.

➡️ Under the plans the UK would join with the US and possibly another European country to unleash a salvo of missiles against pre-planned targets, either in the sea or in Yemen itself, where the militants are based.

➡️ A Whitehall source said the co-ordinated strikes could involve RAF warplanes for the first time or HMS Diamond, a Type 45 destroyer which successfully destroyed an attack drone with a Sea Viper missile in the Red Sea earlier this month.

➡️ It is understood an unprecedented statement is expected to be released by the UK and the US in the coming hours which will warn the Houthis to stop attacking commercial vessels or face the military might of the West.
