Stryker Corporation, a leading U.S. medical technology company, is experiencing a major global IT outage following a cyberattack attributed to the Iranian-linked hacktivist group Handala.

Reports indicate the incident involved wiper malware that erased data from networked devices, particularly affecting systems at the company's Cork, Ireland site. Internal login pages displayed the Handala logo, and employees reported collapsed network access, with some work accounts wiped from personal devices. Staff were sent home as operations halted.

The attack has impacted thousands of workers, including over 5,000 in Ireland, amid broader global disruptions. Stryker shares fell approximately 3% following the news.

Handala, often linked to Iran's intelligence apparatus and known for pro-Palestinian motives, has claimed responsibility in some reports, describing the operation as retaliation in ongoing geopolitical tensions.
