Crypto Investment Firm BlockTower Capital Suffers Losses in Hack
Crypto retail investors have often been the victims of hacks and scams within the industry. Now a major investment firm is on the receiving end.
The new additions, 473.5 bitcoins worth some $29 million since September of 2021, were powered by a small amount of geothermal energy generated by the country's imposing Tecapa volcano, touted as a green way to accumulate the well-known cryptocurrency, which is not regulated by any central bank.
The country has allocated 1.5 megawatts (MW) to cryptocurrency mining out of the 102 MW produced by the state-owned power plant.

El Salvador has mined nearly 474 bitcoins since 2021 thanks to a volcano-fueled geothermal power plant, official data showed on Tuesday, bringing the government's total bitcoin portfolio to nearly $354 million at current prices.
North Korea laundered $147.5 million through virtual currency platform Tornado Cash in March after stealing it last year from a cryptocurrency exchange, according to confidential work by United Nations sanctions monitors seen by Reuters on Tuesday.
The monitors told a U.N. Security Council sanctions committee in a document submitted on Friday that they had been investigating 97 suspected North Korean cyberattacks on cryptocurrency companies between 2017 and 2024, valued at some $3.6 billion.

North Korea laundered $147.5 million through virtual currency platform Tornado Cash in March after stealing it last year from a cryptocurrency exchange, according to confidential work by United Nations sanctions monitors seen by Reuters on Tuesday.
Media reports say Slovakia’s populist Prime Minister Robert Fico was injured in a shooting and taken to hospital. The incident took place in the town of Handlova, some 150 kilometres northeast of the capital, according to the news television station TA3. A suspect has been detained, it said.

‼️ The 3 measures cited in the previous posts had been attempted as individual programs by EU countries before, most notably, in 2021 Germany proposed paying for the expenses of illegal immigrants in Greece in order to give them goo enough living conditions so they would not move to Germany and also requested to send back 'refugees' granted Asylum in Greece but that moved to Germany after, Germany also sent its Federal Police to Greek airports to prevent immigrants from boarding flights to Germany illegally (🖇 sources here & here)

Especially as we:
▶️Shut down Red Hill in HI
▶️Only 17 oilers split btwn Pacific & Atlantic
▶️Few US merchant marine tankers & CONSOL capbility
In WW2, we pulled this off by:
▶️Building on experience of WWI advanced base ops
▶️Using older oilers as station tankers
▶️Taking over 12 fast commercial tankers
▶️Mobilizing US merchant fleet to resupply & reinforce islands
▶️Have shipyard capacity to replace & repair vessels
