Tech Titan Nvidia Confirms Major Investment into Trump’s America
“Having the support of an administration who cares about the success of this industry and not allowing energy to be an obstacle is a phenomenal result.”
“Having the support of an administration who cares about the success of this industry and not allowing energy to be an obstacle is a phenomenal result.”
"Nvidia will spend hundreds of billions of dollars on chips and other electronics manufactured in the US over the next four years, its chief executive has said, as the company tilts its supply chain back from Asia in the face of President Donald Trump’s tariff threats.
The huge spending projection from the world’s most valuable semiconductor group follows multibillion-dollar US investment plans announced by other technology companies including Apple, as the impact of Trump’s “America First” trade policies ripples through the global economy.
“Overall, we will procure, over the course of the next four years, probably half a trillion dollars worth of electronics in total,” Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s chief executive and co-founder, told the Financial Times. “And I think we can easily see ourselves manufacturing several hundred billion of it here in the US.”
In a wide-ranging interview, Huang said the leading artificial intelligence chipmaker was now able to manufacture its latest systems in the US through suppliers such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and Foxconn, and that he saw a growing competitive threat from Huawei in China.
(...)
Huang said he believed the Trump administration could accelerate the development of America’s AI industry. “Having the support of an administration who cares about the success of this industry and not allowing energy to be an obstacle is a phenomenal result for AI in the US,” he said."

Trump announces 6th gen fighter jet: "The F-47 will be the most advanced, most capable, most lethal aircraft ever built. An experimental version of the plane has secretly been flying for almost 5 years and we're confident that it massively overpowers the capabilities of any other nation."
"The U.S. Air Force will produce the world’s first sixth-generation fighter jet, named the F-47, President Donald Trump announced Friday.
“I’m thrilled to announce that, at my direction, the United States Air Force is moving forward with the world’s first sixth-generation fighter jet,” Trump said from the Oval Office, flanked by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
“Nothing in the world comes even close to it, and it’ll be known as the F-47,” Trump said.
Trump said the jet has been in the works for a long period of time, and after a rigorous and thorough competition between America’s top aerospace companies, the Air Force has awarded the contract to make the jet to Boeing, which will be known as the Next Generation Air Dominance platform.
“The F-47 will be the most advanced, most capable, most lethal aircraft ever built,” Trump explained, adding that an experimental version of the plane has secretly been flying for almost five years.

Europe’s biggest military powers are drawing up plans to take on greater responsibilities for the continent’s defence from the US, including a pitch to the Trump administration for a managed transfer over the next five to 10 years.
The discussions are an attempt to avoid the chaos of a unilateral US withdrawal from Nato, a fear sparked by President Donald Trump’s repeated threats to weaken or walk away from the transatlantic alliance that has protected Europe for almost eight decades.
The UK, France, Germany and the Nordics are among the countries engaged in the informal but structured discussions, according to four European officials involved. Their aim is to come up with a plan to shift the financial and military burden to European capitals and present it to the US ahead of Nato’s annual leaders’ summit in The Hague in June.
