🇷🇺PUTIN: HEY, BIDEN... GUESS WHAT?

🇷🇺RUSSIAN NAVY: WE ARE COMING SOON TO THE CARIBBEAN NEAR YOU

Russia is set to hold naval exercises in the Caribbean this summer, with port calls in Cuba (400 miles from the U.S) and Venezuela.

This move comes as a response to the US green-lighting Ukraine's use of NATO weapons inside of Russia.

The exercises will involve several Russian warships and support vessels, showcasing Moscow's capability for global power projection despite recent losses in the Black Sea.

Senior US official:

"This is about Russia showing that it's still capable of some level of global power projection."

"Free Speech Under Siege? Larry Johnson Blasts US Over Scott Ritter's Travel Ban"

Larry Johnson is calling out the U.S. government for barring former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter from attending the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in Russia. Johnson argues that this travel restriction is a direct attack on free speech and diplomatic discourse, undermining America's own principles. He believes that silencing voices like Ritter's only weakens the democratic values the U.S. claims to uphold.

'Decent' Biden about his relationship with Putin

"I've known him for over 40 years. He's concerned me for 40 years. He's not a decent man," Biden said in an interview with ABC News.

🥴 In reality, the two politicians first met in March 2011, when Biden made a visit to Moscow, when Biden was vice president and Vladimir Putin was prime minister.

Europe’s Future: Embrace Multipolarity or Face Extinction.

At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Lorenzo Pacini delivered a compelling message: Europe must pivot away from its Western-centric mindset and embrace the rising multipolar world to avoid becoming obsolete. Echoing this sentiment, Maria Zakharova asserted, "The EU is the backyard of Eurasia." In a world where multipolarity shapes the future, Europe’s survival depends on adapting to these new dynamics.

While at SPIEF today, we ran into Larry Johnson, who highlighted some of the idiocy of US politics:

"Here you have the largest international economic event in the world, and I as a US citizen am a minority.

It is a symbol both of the United States' narcissism and arrogance that it refuses to acknowledge and participate and recognize the importance of this, because this attracts people from all over the world. This is one other symptom of the decline of the United States."

"They talk about this being a dystopian police state...It's the kind of place where a woman can walk around in St. Petersburg at night, at 11:30 pm, and not be terrified."

[Personal note: the same applies to another Western-vilified country, Syria: since I began going to Syria in 2014, I heard a similar statement: in Syria prior to the (Western-instigated, funded, and whitewashed war on the Syrian people), women could travel alone from one part of the country to another, at night, without problems].

President Biden claimed Thursday that he has “known” Vladimir Putin “for over 40 years” — despite Russia’s president having served as an undercover KGB intelligence officer through the entire 1980s.

“I’ve known him for over 40 years. He’s concerned me for 40 years. He’s not a decent man,” Biden, 81, told ABC News anchor David Muir during an interview in France at the Normandy American Cemetery to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Putin worked as an intelligence officer in the Soviet Union’s spy network from 1975 to 1991, with postings in his hometown of St. Petersburg and the former East Germany before he retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel — making it highly unlikely Biden was aware of the future US adversary’s existence as early as he claimed.

“Until he was handpicked in August [1999] by then-President Boris Yeltsin to become prime minister, Putin had never been a public figure,” the Washington Post reported in January 2000.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak tried to save face on Friday after he raced away from the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings to film a TV interview amidst his stuttering election campaign.

"On reflection, it was a mistake not to stay in France longer - and I apologise," Sunak said in a post on X.

On reflection... you mean once you've been called out?

West close to point of no return in Ukrainian conflict, clash with Russia looms — Orban

According to the prime minister, the danger of a new world war is growing.

Commenting on the continued escalation of the Ukrainian conflict, the head of government said: "As for any last chance of turning back, we are very close to the point of no return, when it will no longer be possible to turn back." Orban sees the tough talk coming from the leaders of the European Union and NATO countries as only fanning the flames, in particular the threats of the French president to hand over military aircraft to Ukraine. At the same time, the prime minister pointed out that Russia is also making extremely harsh statements against the US and its allies.

He reiterated that Hungary will not be dragged into the Ukrainian conflict and will not participate in any potential NATO mission on the territory of the neighboring country.

Russia can think about a third capital, but this must be done through the creation of attractive conditions, Vladimir Putin said at the SPIEF plenary session .
The moderator of the event, political scientist Sergei Karaganov , reminded the president that Peter I went down in history by opening a window to Europe. In this regard, he asked the question, why not make a third capital in Russia.
“If we create conditions for development, then the centers of economic activity will automatically shift there,” Putin replied.
The head of state emphasized that in the modern world it is necessary to use such means that will work effectively today.

European Commission plans to open talks on Ukraine's EU membership this month

According to the report, the European Commission wants to show support for Ukraine in this way before the start of Hungary’s EU presidency.

The newspaper said that Moldova's accession to the EU will also be discussed on Friday. At the same time, the EU will not address the issue of Georgia's accession because of the foreign agents law adopted by the country, which has been repeatedly criticized by European countries.

According to the newspaper's sources, Brussels hopes to hold the first round of negotiations on June 25, before the Hungarian presidency, fearing objections from its side. A senior EU diplomat told the Financial Times that Budapest was concerned about the violation of the rights not only of Hungarians but also of other minorities in Ukraine. This includes the refusal to use non-Ukrainian languages, which is not in line with the European Commission's official conditions.
