Germany will stop capping gas prices in January due to budget problems.

From the beginning of the new year, earlier than planned, the German authorities will stop limiting gas and electricity prices against the backdrop of blocking the budget of 60 billion euros and freezing funding for a number of projects, said German Finance Minister Christian Lindner.

In a conversation with radio station Deutschlandfunk , he noted that by December 31, the economic stabilization fund, which Berlin used to mitigate the consequences of the economic crisis, will be closed.

“There will be no more payments from there. Measures to curb prices for electricity and gas will also be stopped by the end of the year,” Lindner explained.
