As I prepare to leave my graduate program (hopefully with a new degree) I have been thinking some about life in the terms of finding. The places we leave behind, the people. Often enough, these acts of leaving are inevitable, but the letting go isn't. I've met many people during my time on this world who I would never want to let go of, and some are even people I've met on here. It's a wonderful thing, this little lost and found bin of friendships, and I hope you all appreciate it as much as I do. While life propels ever onward, we do what we can to hold on to our loves.
New year's day is coming closer, and the symbolism, of course, is rife with growth and change. The same is found in the growth of the year, from our recently passed winter solstice as well. It's perhaps suiting that a channel so based on finding images, poems and songs (the latter two, admittedly, lacking a bit this year) should have it's anniversary during such a time. I, for one, have delighted in the process of gaining and giving, and pruning down what's important to me and my life, and I hope you do as well. The next image I post, as some may know, is one that once held significance to me, which I since forgot. In doing so, it took on knew meaning, and since, it has become one of the things I take around with me, a little snippet of past that goes into my future. I wouldn't be surprised if you all carried something similar. Regardless of whether these ever leave or stay with you forever, take care of what you find.

Paintings by modern Japanese surrealist Tetsuya Ishida. His gloomy portraits of young Japanese men are often considered by critics to be emotional self portraits.
