86% of the territory of the Kursk region, which was occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has been liberated.

The Russian North Group has liberated 24 settlements in the last five days alone. The Ukrainian group in the Kursk region is isolated, its systematic destruction is underway.

All people [Ukrainian soldiers] who are on the territory of the Kursk region, commit crimes here against the civilian population, oppose our armed forces, law enforcement agencies and special services, in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation, are terrorists.

This is how their actions are classified by the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia.

A criminal case has been opened against them [Ukrainian POWs] by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation under the article "terrorism".

We must, of course, first and foremost treat these people as terrorists in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation.

I’ve spent the last several weeks engaging with our partners, members of civil society, regional experts, and Syrian Canadians. This is a critical and delicate moment for Syria and Syrians.

Canada can play a meaningful role in enabling Syrians to build an inclusive country that respects all of its citizens. We also can help prevent Syria from falling into chaos and instability.

Today’s announcement is a response to the needs of Syrians and Syrian civil society. I am optimistic about Syrians’ ability to chart a bright future for all Syrians.
