Telegram ya prometía compartir la IP y número de teléfono hace años 🤷♂️
Nos encontramos nuevamente #desmintiendo otra noticia falsa que se ha estado difundiendo en varios medios de comunicación, incluyendo periódicos y otros canales de la app. Estos, afirman que "Durov, CEO de Telegram, dice que la app proporcionará más datos a los gobiernos" (Bloomberg) o que "Telegram facilitará más datos a los gobiernos, incluidas las direcciones IP y los números de teléfono de los usuarios" (Disclose.tv).
Es de mi agrado informarles que esto es completamente falso, y que Pavel Durov únicamente aclara y recuerda en su comunicado que están comprometidos a hacerlo, no que "van a empezar a hacerlo" o que es nuevo que estén dispuestos a compartir estos datos. Literalmente, el CEO de Telegram dice en su mensaje para referirse a dichos datos «Hemos dejado claro que las direcciones IP y los números de teléfono de aquellos que infrinjan nuestras normas pueden ser revelados a las autoridades pertinentes en respuesta a solicitudes legales válidas», que es lo mismo que dice en la Política de privacidad hace años, y quiero hacer énfasis cuando dice "Hemos dejado claro" que no es lo mismo que decir "es nuevo" o "comenzaremos", pues esto es lo que se viene haciendo hace años y está documentado en el numeral 8.3 de la Política de privacidad de Telegram.
🧐 Si somos curiosos, veremos en la famosa web Wayback Machine (de Internet Archive) —que permite ver versiones anteriores de páginas web— que el párrafo de la sección 8.3 siempre ha estado ahí hace años y no es nada nuevo.

Si Telegram recibe una orden válida de las autoridades judiciales pertinentes que confirme que eres sospechoso en un caso relacionado con actividades criminales que violen los Términos de Servicio de Telegram, realizaremos un análisis legal de la solicitud y podremos revelar tu dirección IP y número de teléfono a las autoridades pertinentes. Si se comparte algún dato, incluiremos tales sucesos en un informe trimestral de transparencia publicado en: https://news.1rj.ru/str/transparency.

The @transparency reports of last years claimed that there was no data disclosure. In reality, Telegram sent IP addresses and phone numbers of hundreds of users to government authorities without updating @transparency reports.
Basically Durov admitted that Telegram was tricking users into thinking that Telegram wasn't disclosuring IP and phone data to authorities.
