Instead of calling it "Link Your Devices", Google finally renamed it to "Cross-device services".
Cross-device services is basically an app for Android which allows app streaming/notification and a few other things directly from your phone to Chromebook. But with "Link your devices" as a part of Google Play Services, your smartphone itself will become a part of a device group which will allow doing similar things between your Android devices. Such as instant hotspot, call streaming (!!), seamlessly switching video calls and maybe more which we don't know yet.

And one more thing to notice is that - The device group activity is not accessible now and new flag added in Play Service indicate that this feature may depend on a chimera module (separate apk which Play Services install as module and enables various other features when requested, such as Digital car key, linking Matter devices, fastpair etc)

I have read some posts that the Local Weather option disappeared for some users running QPR1 Beta 2 (Dec feature drop) from Google Clock. So if you are rooted, you can enable the flags to get this feature working again.

Assistant with Bard AI has made its way into the Google app

Basically this whole thing is kind of a copy of web version of Bard AI with extension support and all other fancy stuff. Shared some strings which I found in the Google app. There is going to be new Assistant Shorcut in app drawer for "Assistant with Bard AI".

[Root] Experiment - Try the Google Pixel 8 series Magic Editor on your device.

Things to know - I tested it on my non-pixel device (A13) and it crashes for me after tapping "try now", likely because it's using tensor specific shit. So there is 0% guarantee of working on your device. May work on Pixel Devices though. Here is a demo of it by Mishaal Rahman.


Module - Pixel 8 Pro Props (Spoofs only device name and manufacturer, not other things), also adds Pixel 2023 experience feature config.

Instructions -
• Flash the module in magisk
• Clear data of Play Store
• Reboot
• Open Play Store and install the Google Photos update.
• Try editing any photo and you may see a shiney button on the left side in editing toolbar.
• Hope that it doesn't crash after tapping "try now"

Google Drive adds two page layout in document viewer for larger screens

With version - 2.23.407.1 (apkmirror) , you will be able to view your document in Google drive in a two page layout by tapping on a button given just before the three dot menu in the document viewer screen.

This is intended for bigger screens such as foldables and tablets and the button may not show on your phone. It depends on the DPI and if your DPI is above 500, it will show up in landscape mode only (so likely it depends on the width of the device screen).

There is a flag for it but you don't need to flip it because it's enabled by default in the mentioned version.
