Update : it's working https://news.1rj.ru/str/GappsModFlags/81

A screenrecord as well, but the feature seems to be not working because I guess the things are not configured as they should be on Google side, or it's just not ready for testing in public

Sorry for the continuous posts one after another. I am posting as soon as I am finding things.

#Gboard

The final list of changes in Gboard beta. Some features are working fully and some are considered to be still WIP.

1. Predictive Back Navigation.

2. Undo, delete, space and other various gestures intended for devices with stylus support only. They will not work for normal users. The gesture feature is disabled for now. The needed flags are not exposed.
After looking at the code and flags I can say that there will be a stylus widget (like clipboard, resize) in Gboard which will open a vertical toolbar (Will be able to change to horizontal as well) to help you perform the gesture in the text edit field. The toolbar will probably hide the keyboard.

3. Proofreading support using Generative AI. Proofread helps you correct spelling, grammar and punctuation with just a tap. Google named it Jarvis according to the code. 🫣

4. Emogen - A Generative artificial intelligence emoji generator.

5. Next Generation Assistant will also support Proofreading mode. It means Gboard will also show the chip for text entered/typed using NGA (I guess it's obvious)

6. A new banner will be shown after you add a new language in Gboard.

7. Auto-correct suggestion for physical keyboard. To select, first press & hold the Alt key, then press the "number" of the suggestion to select it. There will be physical keyboard setting in Gboard.

8. Show a floating toolbar when using voice typing.

9. The toolbar will show in three cases when enabled - First is Voice typing, second is Stylus Gestures and the third is when physical keyboard is connected.

Stylus features UI.

You may have seen the stylus features UI video from 9to5google but there was one thing missing - A Vertical Toolbar. Here I enabled it and can be seen in this video. (I don't have a device with stylus so gestures aren't working in video)

Conversation Starters In Gboard

Other than just Proofreading and changing tone of a conversation, Gboard can help you start a conversation as well. With 30+ topics to choose, you can select a topic and Gboard will generate something (A question or short info!!) from that topic.

How it works - Just tap on a empty text box in a chat, tap on the "Proofread" button and it will show the topics as seen in attached image above.

I was able to enable the feature but it didn't generate anything for my choosen topic because of some errors (Beta!).

Topics (may change) - travel, music, news, sports, movies, food, coffee, politics, Google, AI, education, handcraft, sci-fi, books, novels, environment, weather, language, culture, history, NBA, football, Biden, love, relationship, myth, makeups, shopping, creativity, poem, Yosemite, camping

The flag for this feature is not exposed, so I will share once it make its way in GMS database.

#GoogleKeep.

The news of Google Keep getting text formatting support was spotted almost a year ago but there was no preview/video of the feature except some string and icons.

I enabled it on Google Keep and attached a video above to show how it works. The web version also doesn't support text formatting, so you will see normal text on web.

And yes, I will share the flag to enable it soon.

#GoogleDocs

Google Docs may soon get the basic markup feature (same as available in Google Drive) allowing you to add signatures and draw on docs directly while creating documents.

As far as I know and please correct me if I am wrong, the markup/drawing feature is available only in Web Version and is more advanced.

Meanwhile the Android version is not that advanced, people who use docs frequently will probably find it very useful.

#GooglePlayServices

The Cross Device services have finally landed in Google Play Services. The "Link Your Device" service which was spotted earlier will have a Device group feature where you can invite and join your other devices which have the same Google account. You will be able to share your internet and transfer calls across devices.

The feature may arrive very soon but still a work in progress because the device listed in screenshot are dummy devices.

Till then, rooted users can enable the feature with (but it may not work) -

Package - com.google.android.gms.multidevice#com.google.android.gms

Flag - MultideviceSettingsConfig__enable_link_your_devices

GMS version - 23.32.13

Just a new setup wizard for Nearby Sharing. They are also adding some consent feature (Activity is there but not accessible ) before you start using Nearby Share for the first time on your device.

#GoogleContacts

The single contact widget provider in Google contact is getting a new widget (v2). It is rounded square but the shape and button placement changes as we resize it.

The old widget provider (v1) is still present but it is not possible to keep both versions enabled at the same time. It's unknown if Google will remove the old one completely or will keep both widgets and provide an option to let just users choose.

It's present in the Google Contact version 4.15.24.554449442 but needs root to enable at this moment. Expect it to roll out soon.

When you enable the new Google Message redesign flag, supersort (Message categories) thing just disappears completely. While it's currently not possible to bring it all back for now, you can at least have the auto-delete OTP feature with this redesign as Google added a flag to decouple this feature from Supersort. You will see the option under "Message Organisation".
