🇺🇸⛓🇲🇽🇲🇽In a major development in Mexico's war on drug cartels: the United States has arrested Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, leader of the brutal Sinaloa cartel and successor to Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, in El Paso, Texas.

🔖📁It is also reported that Guzman's son Joaquin was arrested along with him. Guzman Lopez was arrested and extradited to the United States in 2017 and is serving a life sentence.

🔴According to one version, both drug traffickers surrendered, having made a deal with the American authorities (which in the case of El Mayo does not sound entirely logical).

🔴According to another version, only the son of “El Chapo” concluded the deal, and “El Mayo” was deceived into entering the United States.

🔴At the same time, Ovidio Guzman (whose brother was arrested in El Paso) was transferred to another prison.

📎If this is indeed the case, then this is the arrest of the century. The Sinaloa Cartel's El Mayo faction dominates the states of Sinaloa, Durango and Baja California, and also has strong influence in the states of Zacatecas and Chiapas.This faction is at war in several parts of the country with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
