Belgium: Covid Restrictions OVERTURNED by State Council

The nation's advisory body has suspended a govt-ordered shutdown of part of the cultural sector - stressing the new Covid restrictions on theaters were “not proportionate.” (Euronews)

The Council of State ruled the restrictions which took effect on Sunday didn’t provide enough motives to “understand why going to cultural sector performance venues was particularly dangerous for public health.”

The Council has the legal powers to overturn government decisions it deems as “unlawful,” and its verdict has been welcomed by many Belgian politicians.

France Shuts Down Mosque for ‘Defending Jihad’ & Sharia Advocacy - Report

France has ordered a mosque in Beauvais to close its doors after its imam allegedly preached “radical” sermons that “defended jihad."

The imam apparently referred to jihadist fighters as "heroes,” incited violence and referred to the religious rule of Islam as “superior” to the laws of the French Republic, according to the BBC.

Authorities in France perform regular checks on Islamic places suspected of extremist ties.
