Niantic has released Update 2.143.1 to the App Stores!
New in this version is a much appreciated Quality-of-live change: while managing your inventory, instead of keeping the (+) button held down to select all items, you can now use the (-) button when the counter is at 0 to instantly select all items of the selected type! This can be done in both the inventory view as well as the Capsule view.

Our servers recovered by Wave 3, and neither Faction gained an advantage in Waves 1 or 2 that could have changed the outcome of the Anomaly Score or overall Anomaly Season. After discussing with Vanguards, we decided not to adjust or discount scores from Waves 1 and 2. We are still investigating the cause of the server issues, and we’re working to resolve them before the next Anomaly Site is activated.

Brian Rose, commenting on a Reddit post which lamented the inability for newer devices to perform Scans and other AR tasks, addressed the issue directly by stating that the Lightship team internal to Ingress is working to update the Lightship ARDK the game is currently running.
This update should expand the gamut of devices to those which are currently able to perform AR tasks on Pokémon Go. No timeline was provided for this improvement.
Editor's note: Pokemon Go is currently using the oldest Lightship scanning technology. If you were able to scan in the past you will probably be able to scan again, however if you haven't been able to scan in the past at all then you will probably not be able to scan in the future either because old devices lack the technology to support AR.
