The battles have grinded to a halt until Niantic can fix the current issues. There are currently no updates from Niantic directly on the status of the servers and how these problems will affect the score.

It has sadly been over half an hour during an Anomaly and Agents are still reporting problems with the game. Niantic has just announced that they are aware of the current issues and are investigating.

🔵 Budapest was won by the Resistance with a score of ENL 86.1 - 113.9 RES.

As this event was the final battle in the Buried Memories series, the final score therefore stands at:

🔵 The Resistance capture the Buried Memories Anomaly in Budapest, Hungary!

Niantic has acknowledged the server issues during the first two waves, however they believe that no faction gained an advantage during that time that would have swayed the result which is why the points of these two waves will stand after discussion with the Vanguards.

Note on Budapest: We are aware of the server issues that impacted the Scanner and Intel Map during Waves 1 and 2 of the Buried Memories: Budapest Anomaly. Our servers recovered by Wave 3, and neither Faction gained an advantage in Waves 1 or 2 that could have changed the outcome of the Anomaly Score or overall Anomaly Season. After discussing with Vanguards, we decided not to adjust or discount scores from Waves 1 and 2. We are still investigating the cause of the server issues, and we’re working to resolve them before the next Anomaly Site is activated.

Brian Rose, commenting on a Reddit post which lamented the inability for newer devices to perform Scans and other AR tasks, addressed the issue directly by stating that the Lightship team internal to Ingress is working to update the Lightship ARDK the game is currently running.

This update should expand the gamut of devices to those which are currently able to perform AR tasks on Pokémon Go. No timeline was provided for this improvement.

Editor's note: Pokemon Go is currently using the oldest Lightship scanning technology. If you were able to scan in the past you will probably be able to scan again, however if you haven't been able to scan in the past at all then you will probably not be able to scan in the future either because old devices lack the technology to support AR.

Experiencing an Anomaly live is always a great time, but last weekend, the most striking moments for me were the ones during the GORUCK challenges, which left me speechless while witnessing the endeavours of participating Agents! - @carlobolla

Every Anomaly Site normally hosts 3 GORUCK Events:

Stealth Ops and Urban Ops
A series of competitive, physical challenges which are disputed respectively in the night before or the morning of the Anomaly. These events contribute to the score of an Anomaly Site.

Operation Clear Field
An optionally crossfaction service-themed scavenger hunt with competitive Ingress exploration. Usually held the morning after the Anomaly.

All these are paid events hosted by GORUCK, and participants will obtain a patch of the event they participated in, and a point on their respective Ingress Badge.

These events are also available for the next Anomaly events, on August 17th and September 21st so, if you are willing to put your own physical strength and power on the line to help your Faction in first person, this is the perfect way to do so!

Niantic has clarified how the AP bonuses will stack during the Buried Memories Bonus Week and 2x AP 2sday.

Just like for the previous Bonus Week, the two bonuses will not stack.

The 2x AP bonus during Tuesday afternoons (16:00 - 21:00) local time will override the 1.331x AP from the Bonus Week.

However, Apexes will double the AP bonus of 2x AP 2sdays up to a 4x multiplier.
