We have received reports that the amount of +Beta Tokens you recieve after interacting with a high category Battle Beacon is a multitude higher than the stated amount from the Ingress team.
Over 200 Agents in Yokohama and 50 Agents in Osaka came together to deploy and fight over Battle Beacons, but many have reported of receiving more than 10000 +Beta Tokens within a few minutes. This would have required over 300 CAT-VI Battle Beacons interacted with, however the reported amount of deployed Battle Beacons is a lot lower.
The exact cause of this discrepancy isn't apparent yet and it is unknown if the Ingress team has quietly tweaked the Token reward for higher CAT Battle Beacons or if there is another unknown modifier. Let us know your observations from your own Battles!

The Year 13 celebrations have ended and all bonuses such as 2x AP should have been reverted!

Niantic Spatial is experimenting with a new type of event called Global Op Redux! You will be able to attempt up to five Global Ops again and unlock their respective medals.The requirements for these medals are the same as they were for the original Global Op.
Already got Silver during the original Global Op? You'll be able to earn Recursion Wings for your original medal, but only if you have already gained the Silver Tier in the original Global Op. If you haven't Recursed yet, they will be retroactively applied to your original medal if you Recurse in the future.
The following Global Ops will be available to reattempt:

The Support pages have been restructured and moved from ingress.com/support to support.ingress.com. This move also switched the Support platform to Zendesk, both online and in the Scanner.
The Ingress Support chat itself also got an update, and Remy now seems to have been retired! When submitting a ticket to support, you will now be communicating with ADA, an AI chatbot.
The menu of earlier options is also removed and ADA will ask you instead to state your enquiry in open text format. Depending on your input, ADA will then guide you through the required steps to open a new ticket.

Niantic announced a new challenge for Agents in this final period of the year: the Winter Solstice 2025 Campaign!
It is a free campaign which will run from Friday, December 5th @ 18:00 UTC until Monday, December 22nd @ 18:00 UTC, consisting of 4 assignments.
The Bronze Winter Solstice Dispatch Challenge Medal (left) will be awarded after completing 2 assignments, the Silver Medal (center) will be awarded upon completion of the Campaign.
Additionally, a special Winter Solstice 2025 Medal (right) will be available for purchase in the store for 10.000 CMU.

The Ingress team has revealed more details about the previously announced C.A.R.G.O. feature!
With the release of Scanner Version 3.1, C.A.R.G.O. will be available in the in-app Store for a cost of 3,500 CMU each. Each C.A.R.G.O. increases inventory capacity by 100 slots for 30 days from the date of acquisition. Agents may acquire up to five C.A.R.G.O. simultaneously, with each C.A.R.G.O. operating on an independent 30-day timer.
Once bought, the inventory expansion is automatically applied and their remaining duration can be checked in the Scanner Settings. As with C.O.R.E., if C.A.R.G.O. expires and you are over the inventory limit you will need to delete or use items to be able to hack portals or redeem passcodes again.

After feedback from local Agents and authorities, Niantic decided to cancel the +Beta Shard Storm Event in 🇯🇵 Sapporo, Japan on December 14th.
The city will be replaced with 🇬🇧 Newcastle upon Tyne, England, UK!
The Intel Map ornaments already reflect this change.

A special ITO EN X Ingress Dispatch Challenge will be released with the opportunity to earn the new ITO EN medal!
At the moment, the only known way to participate in this challenge is by participating in a lottery set up by ITO EN and winning one of only 100 passcodes which gives you access to the Dispatch Campaign. To participate, head over to Twitter, follow itoen_vd and retweet their Tweet linked below.
We currently do not know if it'll be possible to aquire the Campaign and/or the Medal otherwise, and it might be possible that this Medal will be exclusive to the 100 winners.
Other Agents will have the opportunity to get access to the Campaign via other means in 2026.

Update: Brian has confirmed that while the 100 Agents selected by the lottery will be the first to access the ITO EN Dispatch Challenge, other Agents will also be able to gain access later in 2026. The exact details of how isn't known, but going by the phrasing of "many more Agents" it is likely that there will be a way for Agents to access it globally.

Niantic announced a new Campaign that will run from December 16th, 2025 to February 5th, 2026: Operation Polaris!
The Campaigns will be based around completing Daily Bounties, and will award a tiered medal, its tier increasing after each of the three Assignments.
Each of the Assignments is structured in the same way:
🔸Complete 13 Daily Bounties
🔸Complete 26 Daily Bounties
🔸Complete 39 Daily Bounties
🔸Complete 52 Daily Bounties
Repeat three times to level up the Operation Polaris badge to Bronze, Silver and Gold.
The challenge runs for 52 days, and completing 52 Daily Bounties takes 13 days if none are skipped, meaning that the minimum time to complete all three tiers is 39 days.
You will need to complete an average of 3 Bounties per day to stay on pace towards Gold.
