Clinical trial reverses two biological processes associated with aging in human cells

“Today telomere shortening is considered the ‘holy grail’ of the biology of aging. Researchers around the world are trying to develop pharmacological and environmental interventions that enable telomere elongation. Our HBOT protocol was able to achieve this, proving that the aging process can be reversed at the basic cellular-molecular level,”

"Until now, interventions such as meditation, lifestyle modifications ,and intense exercise were shown to have some inhibiting effect on telomere shortening," Dr. Hadanny adds. "But in our study, only three months of HBOT were able to elongate telomeres at rates far beyond any currently available interventions or lifestyle modifications. With this pioneering study, we have opened a door for further research on the cellular impact of HBOT and its potential for reversing the aging process."

Rapid Mental Rejuvenation: Experimental Drug Reverses Age-Related Cognitive Decline Within Days

A new study, published on December 1, 2020, showed rapid restoration of youthful cognitive abilities in aged mice, accompanied by a rejuvenation of brain and immune cells that could help explain improvements in brain function.

The data suggest that the aged brain has not permanently lost essential cognitive capacities, as was commonly assumed, but rather that these cognitive resources are still there but have been somehow blocked, trapped by a vicious cycle of cellular stress.

“This study with ISRIB demonstrates a way to break that cycle and restore cognitive abilities that had become walled off over time.”

The drug, called ISRIB, has already been shown in laboratory studies to restore memory function months after traumatic brain injury (TBI), reverse cognitive impairments in Down Syndrome, prevent noise-related hearing loss, fight certain types of prostate cancer, and even enhance cognition in healthy animals.

Impact of COVID-19 restrictions on pre-school children's eating, activity and sleep behaviours: a qualitative study

The spring COVID-19 lockdown negatively impacted on pre-school children's eating, activity, and sleep routines. While some positive changes were reported, there were widespread reports of lack of routines, habits, and boundaries which, at least in the short-term, were likely to have been detrimental for child health and development," the researchers concluded in the study.

Chinese scientists say they’ve achieved
quantum supremacy

Google said last year it has built a computer that could perform a computation in 200 seconds that would take the fastest supercomputers about 10,000 years.
The Chinese researchers claim their new prototype is able to process 10 billion times faster than Google’s prototype, according to the Xinhua report.

International travelers may soon be required to get COVID-19 vaccination before flying

Qantas Chief Executive Alan Joyce said he's been talking to his counterparts at other airlines around the world about the possibility of a “vaccination passport” for international travelers.
“We are looking at changing our terms and conditions to say for international travelers, that we will ask people to have the vaccination before they get on the aircraft,” Joyce told Australia's Network Nine television.

"But certainly for international visitors coming out, and people leaving the country, we think that’s a necessity,” he said.
Korean Air, said Tuesday there’s a real possibility that airlines will require that passengers be vaccinated .

Chung said there are already a variety of discussions within the industry to ensure safer travel during the pandemic. These include trials of “Common Pass,” an app endorsed by the World Economic Forum that aims to provide a standardized format for airlines to evaluate the coronavirus test results of passengers to determine whether they should travel.
