The reduction of Russian LNG imports should be considered in gradual steps - EU energy watchdog says in report that highlights difficulty for the EU of balancing energy security with the drive to hit Russia’s finances by cutting gas purchases.

Although the EU has partially replaced Russian pipeline gas with LNG, the global gas market remains tight, the article notes.

Just an observation: EU needs Russia more than Russia needs the EU. Isn't it time to turn off the tap?
